As a dyson owner both corded and cordless, I wouldn't bother. Spend $100 on a Kmart corded model and a couple of hundred on a cordless from another reputable brand and you're sorted.
Or combine the corded with a xiaomi robotvac v1 (not the overpriced bs vac sweeper combo).
If you have cash to splash then sky's the limit. Go nuts.

Omg you could even hire a cleaner!
      (pro tip: marry one)

Bonus points for them being french with the maid uniform? ;)

      • (pro tip: marry one that lasts longer than 9 minutes on Max)

        • Who are you and how do you know my name?

        • 9 minutes on Max? What about on James or Patrick?? ;D

  • Bought a V6 Animal under $500 about 18 months ago, reckon thats about the right price. I love it. Looking for a V8 Absolute for my parents around the same price, not quite there yet.

  • +5

I reckon Miele corded are the best.

  • +1

I bought a V6 Handstick exactly 2 years ago for $330 from Bing Lee during an eBay sale which still works great.

I got the V6 Soft Roller Cleaner Head which is best for wood floors for £80 from Dyson Vacuum Spares in the UK as an addon which makes it equivalent to one of the more expensive V6 models.

I like having the latest of everything but really struggle to justify $800 for this.

  • v6 is good enough

For those who saids clear V6 series Dyson is pain, that is because you do not read the instruction properly. Please go back to find the instruction and read it. Remove the dust container and use the brush tools to remove the dust.

I am laughing who use the fingers to clear the dust container. That is really disgusting.

    • +3

Lol it's not rocket science mate. The fact that I have to remove the dust container is my problem. Sure it doesn't take that long but when they advertise the product they don't highlight that bit. They say it's as easy as popping the bottom which is a bit misleading. Whether you use a finger or brush or chopsticks it really doesn't matter. Also mine didn't come with a brush anyway.

    • What brush tools? Don't think mine came with any tools to clean the container

      • The upholstery brush; they don’t come with a specific cleaning brush or anything

Sell old Dyson for cost price

People hear the word Dyson and suddenly they lose any sense of reasoning. $800 -$930 for a motor that sucks up bits of dirt is cray cray. Miele all the way for build and pricing.

    • I know right.. Seems like the trend these days all tech companies just round it up to 1k. I don't even know any other home vacuum companies that charges more than 500….besides Dyson.

      • +2

        You've never heard of Miele?

        What about LG?

        Probably not Shark

        But surely Bosch

        :)

      • LG and Samsung now have handheld ones above $500. About the same price as Dyson. Check The Good Guys website.

I ordered the V10 absolute last night, and picked it up today at a store. The staff said very good price because they don't get any discount on Dyson.

  • +2

9 minutes at max power…. Should be named DieSoon Clyclone V10 Absolute MF.

    • I'm sure Samuel L. Jackson said that.

  • -3

I paid less for ducted vacuum kit that I installed, this is ridiculous…. all you are paying for are a few batteries, some good marketing and a small motor they call a V10 like it's an engine or something. lol

    • +4

OK, can you come install a ducted vacuum into my unit?

  • Wow! Crazy prices for Dyson. I don't understand people who would spend this kind of money for a vac.

    • It’s funny people won’t spen good money on the best vac on the market yes will blow 1900 on an iPhone X or simpler they could be one in the same pople

      • Best how?

It only has 60% of the suction of a Miele or Dyson corded model.

It lasts less than 10 minutes on maximum mode.

The canister is small so you need to empty frequently.

  • If you have spare money, Dyson is perfect. Very convenient. My 7 years old dc30 (not a handstick) still running alright. Only one problem, the charging cable died every second year. I don't know if it is Dyson standard or not. Still cannot figure it out how could it happened when most of other electronic stuffs in the house never have any issue with the charging part.

Also less than 10mins on maximum power is not worth the money.

  • My V6 animal is crap. Wish I had never bought it.

Dyson are the biggest frauds around.

    • +2

In what way? Just curious as I have one too.

      • I have a V6 Absolute and love it. We have a professional cleaner bi monthly and the Dyson still manages to find dust. I guess it's the rotating brush beating the rugs and carpet.

  • +5

Good price for the V10 (relative to RRP) but given the relatively competitive pricing for V6's of late (ie sub $300), it's hard to spend more than double for it especially when there's not a huge improvement in performance (beyond battery life): https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-v6-vs-…

That being said, the Dyson V6 hand stick I have has been amazing. It actually made me want to vacuum small things more often just because it's easy/convenient to use, light, and sufficiently powerful (with or without a motorised head on). My corded vacuum still gets used when I need to do a thorough clean on a fortnightly basis, but the Dyson has been great for everything in between. Even got my parents into it too (they weren't a believer at first).

  • I bought this a week ago with this deal. I've had two previous Dyson corded vacs, the first one DC08 I loved for seven years. Its replacement, a now three year old DC54 sucks balls and not in a good way. I purchased this having done my research and knowing the limits on the battery life. I have to say; it's great. On a single charge I can do the children's bedrooms (carpet, max power), and then the next day I do the master bedroom and the two rugs. I use low or medium power on the rest of the house, which has tiled floors. I don't really understand why Dyson doesn't have a removable battery pack so you can have one on charge, and the other on the stick. My power tools all have spare batteries. I guest that will be the hook for the v11 when it's released.

    • -1

No it won't be. Look at the trend on smart phone batteries used to be user replaceable but now all internal you will know all future release Dyson cordless won't have user replaceable batteries. The reason that I believe is similar to smart phones now have internal batteries because of weight saving and cost saving plus potentially people will replace the whole products instead of only the consumables such as the batteries.

      • Look at the trend on smart phone batteries used to be user replaceable but now all internal you will know all future release Dyson cordless won't have user replaceable batteries.

        The DC59, V6, and V8 all have user-replaceable batteries. I don't see any reason to think the V10 and V11 won't.

        • -1

LOL Jeromeo has already said V10 doesn't have a removable battery pack. Are you not listening again? It has to be docked to be charged. So you predict V11, all the Android smartphone will go back to the older generation design to have a removable battery again? What is your basis? To cost more to manufacture the casing for the battery so Dyson can make less profit and create more weight so people buy it can vacuum and do weight lifting at the same time?
BTW, looks like I am not the only one struggle to vacuum the whole house in one charge and Spaceflight isn't the only will use max mode to vacuum. You need to do more surveys before jumping into a conclusion max mode is abusing the battery and certainly take more than 1 charge to vacuum the whole house isn't too much.

        • @wtfnodeal:

LOL Jeromeo has already said V10 doesn't have a removable battery pack.

He's talking about user-removable like a cordless drill.
          I'm talking user-removable like the DC59, V6, and V8.

So you predict V11, all the Android smartphone will go back to the older generation design to have a removable battery again?

Can you show me where I said anything about Android phones? Or did you make that up in your head?

You need to do more surveys before jumping into a conclusion max mode is abusing the battery and certainly take more than 1 charge to vacuum the whole house isn't too much.

How did you jump to that conclusion?

        • You are right. Just finished a chat with Dyson they said not in stock at the moment but will arrive AU in a month. So the spare battery can be plugged into the charger and charged and you can do vacuum with the battery comes with the stick at the same time. Good to know Dyson isn't all money minded to think about selling the whole product instead of buying only the battery pack. But that also means it has agreed that some people use more than 1 charge to vacuum the whole house isn't abnormal so 60mins + 60mins is sure enough to do the whole house. And guess what, the product also aims people like me spend more than 60mins to vacuum the whole house.

        • -1

@eug: he is complaining Dyson has no removable battery pack for V10 so he can charge it and use the other to power the stick and vacuum at the same time.
You said people like Spaceflight use max mode to abuse the battery mate. Short term memory more?

        • @wtfnodeal: Still grasping at straws I see. Cute. :)

        • -1

          @wtfnodeal:
Gotta love ozbargain when electrical experts get into heated debates about vacuums. They should just go and and have a big suck off to see who wins.

    • They do have V10 removable battery pack sold separately. Not in stock at the moment.

  • +1

Have one of these and it's easily the best vacuum cleaner i've had.

I rarely need to use the max setting and use it a lot more frequently than I ever used my corded one. Suction is way more powerful than my older dyson too.

  • I've tried all the Dyson cordless vaccuums.

    I'd say V10 isn't worth the cost but a V8 around $550 is a good deal

  • Anyone that bought one during this sale has their Dyson shipped as of yet?
