  • shame this doesnt store music (despite what the description says), that's going to set you back $210 but nets you HR

    • What's the point of measuring everything using wildly innaccurate methods though?

Ok not everything, I'm sure the lap timer works just fine.

Wrist based HR is a joke. I have a Vivosmart HR+ which I've given up on as a running watch - I've run it back to back with my original Vivoactive with a HR strap and the GPS/HR of the Vivosmart is pretty ordinary, which I guess isn't super-surprising given wrist based HR and the very small size of the packaging for the GPS antenna.

Still, the basic smartwatch and steps/stairs functionality is handy and the small form factor combined with the comfortable rubber/silicon strap makes it a handy watch working as an electrical tech.

  • Bear in mind Tomtom has departed the wearables market (http://fortune.com/2017/10/03/tomtom-smartwatch-apple-watch-…) so there are obvious questions about ongoing support and training data storage.

I guess for $108 it's not a bad way to get an intro if you're not sure if something like this would work for you - it is a big step up dollar-wise to anything else current with onboard GPS.
