no idea about the hdd in it (maybe Google might be able to help) and sure you can take it out to put it in your pc, which will then void your warranty for the product.

Be wary of 3TB Seagates. They were statistically the worst drives in recent times, get 2TB, 4TB but 3TB at your own risk unless these are somehow new version stock (doubt it!). This isn't your everyday Seagate hate post either.
