$21 Cashback on $25 Vodafone 10GB Mobile Data SIM (180 Day Expiry) @ Cashrewards

3010

Vodafone currently has this prepaid data SIM at half price (normally $50). The cashback is the sweetener as you're basically getting 10GB with 6 months expiry for $4. In order to receive the cashback, you must (1) activate the SIM within 30 days of purchase, and (2) have the SIM remain active for 60 days after activation. There's no reason to cancel early as it has a 180 day expiry. Offer is limited to one per customer and one per Cashrewards account.

Note that although this stacks with Refer-a-Friend, please do not attempt to game the system by creating or have more than one Cashrewards account as they will be flagged, account/s cancelled, and rewards forfeited (as per our terms).

Please turn Adblock/uBlock off and close all open tabs. Ensure you are logged into your Cashrewards account and click out of the main link via the Cashrewards Shop Now button. Do not exit the Vodafone page until your purchase is complete. Last click is key to tracking. Offer ends tomorrow (Thursday) 11:59pm AEST. Enjoy :)

Simple Instructions:

  • Log into your Cashrewards account.
  • Click the main link or click here.
  • Click the Shop Now button.
  • Add the $50 $25 SIM to cart.
  • Complete purchase without leaving Vodafone page.
  • Receive CR tracking email.
  • Receive SIM in mail.
  • Activate SIM in <30 days.

Last deal going to expiry in 6 weeks …. I still have 17GB of data lol

    • Same… but I'm still gonna buy this LOL.
It's too good of a deal to pass up.

    • Any idea if this will stack onto a current active 18GB/180 day prepaid plan?

  • +4

Before you buy please read these:
SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase.
SIM must remains active for at least 60 days after activation.

    • Thanks! Just what I about to ask! haha

    • The sim lasts 180 days anyway..

  • +2

    GREAT

  • -3

damn….this is great deal but 10gb for 180 day isnt alot.

    • +16

10GB for 180 days that costs $4 is a great deal!

      • Agreed. I have to frequently access internet on my work laptop and phone hotspots are essential. With this I'll stick it in a dongle and good to go.

        • That is what I am doing now with the last deal

        • Any ideas on getting a cheap dongle

        • @MrHyde: Check this tag as the deals on them will often fall under that tag. Also gives you a good idea on how much they've previously been.

    • I pay $5 with Telstra PER MONTH just for the privilege of having an extra Sim to use my existing data plan in a different device (e.g. ipad). This will save me $26 if I cancel telstra sim immediately

I also feel like there is an opportunity to setup an old phone as a spotify streamer for on the go but not sure yet

  • I miss TA and the bargains that he regularly put up

    • +1

Have you been in a coma?

      • Nah on holidays :)

  • Much better than last time, paid $25 for $15 hatchback…

    • -4

Last time was double the data. 20 gb. And there are better deals.

      • +4

No it wasn't. Double data was mid December.

        • -8

Sorry I was OBVIOUSLY referring to the double data offer whenever that was. I wasn’t interested in a worse offer. Had to jump through hoops to get the cash back so wasn’t wasting my time again, nor will I on this. But keep negging while I have a big laugh.

        • +7

@wxyz234: No hoops to jump through at all if you follow the instructions. And FYI I didn’t neg you. Reps can’t neg comments.

    • +10

$25 for a hatchback? Did it come with registration?

      • +3

        What about insurance?

        • +1

At $15 it probably doesn't run. Just park in the front yard and don't move it. No need to pay insurance, rego, fuel, no maintenance costs, a very cheap car indeed!

        • @sween64: good luck getting a girl into it :P

      • the joys of autocorrect

      • +1

        Low yield investment

  • Does it matter if you have had another voda SIM in the past or another current account?

    • I think doesn't matter because you login with the phone number

  • great for pokemon go

    • +1

      Should be renamed "Pokémon Went".

  • Does active mean in a phone or just not cancelled? Will just not cancelling it after using it for a few days (relatives in town) suffice?

    • +2

Just activate it and park it :)

      • What about if I activate the $50 starter pack on the talk combo instead? When the credit expires in 35 days but the SIM card remains active. Would that qualify for cashback? How long after credit expiry would vodafone prepaid SIM be "de-activated"? i.e. would stop functioning to receive calls and texts.

EDIT: Does the following count as active?
According to https://www.vodafone.com.au/support/prepaid/transfer-credit "If you don’t recharge within 395 days after the expiry of your last prepaid recharge your number will automatically be disconnected."

        • Hi samlor. Please follow the instructions in the OP and you'll get your cashback. Anything outside this, I can't comment on as I honestly have no idea. Thanks.

        • @tightarse: Gotcha, thank you for responding. My reading of the instructions suggests that SIM activation can be on any plan. Not only the mobile broadband plan(s). As long as the SIM remains active i.e. not disconnected even credit is expired, for 60 days. And, I received the Cashrewards tracking email confirmation upon purchase so I will activate on the talk combo plan as I need the unlimited talk and text more than the data and long credit expiry, thanks.

        • +1

@samlor: Hi again samlor. Deal was advertised as data only as per title and OP. Please note that Vodafone can decline the transaction when they consolidate sales. Hopefully however they won't :)

    • i read it as dont disconnect the sim for longer than 60 days

  • Hey @tightarse, it shows that expected cashback is $12 on my email from CR, did I do something wrong??

    • +2

You did nothing wrong. I did. First 5 sales went through at the old rate because I was stupid enough to post 2 minutes early and you received the old rate. Please PM me your CR email address and I'll adjust it right away. You're obviously one of the first to buy :)

  • Thanks TA. Cheap data feels so good.

  • +1

How long does the CR email take?

    • +1

How long does the CR email take?

I'm still waiting. Surely once the Vodafone tracking e-mail has arrived I can close the window?

UPDATE: looking at the time stamps, the CR e-mail took around 17 minutes after the VF one.

      • Great feedback. Thank you :)

        • hey TA, those who availed Vodafone cashback during last deal, are they eligible again for cash back in this deal?

        • +1

@AG1304x: Hey AG1304x. Separate deals. Good to go :)

        • +1

          @tightarse: Cheers… I placed the order

      • +1

        4 minutes for me :)

    • More than an hour and no CR email

    • 11 minutes for me

  • +1

Can I receive calls on this sim?

    • +1

I think you can you will have a phone number

      • +1

If it is activated as a MBB sim, it won't be able to receive phone calls. My last one could not even send/receive SMS until I contacted the customer care to get it fixed.
However, the sim starter pack can also be activated as a voice sim or a voice / data combo (with different entitlements / expiry), if that's what you want.

    • +1

Last time I used this data SIM it had a phone number but couldn't receive calls. Also you get 30 outgoing texts IIRC but you can't receive texts.

    • No, I have one from shopback offer. It only able to use mobile data, can make whatsapp call too.

  • Stupid question but when do I get my money back? (I know should learn to read but struggling to understand)
Also can I receive or send calls on this sim?

    • +1

Are you referring to Cashrewards? The $21 will hit that, and you can "withdraw" from there as per their website.

  • hmm, currently with kogan, anyone reckon there will be any problems porting from kogan to voda?

they are on the same network.

    • A couple months ago I ported Kogan to Voda and it took less than 20 mins, probably the fastest port I've ever had and I port every month. I either had great luck or they've improved the internal porting process, at least going by previous reports that porting within the network is a huge hassle. I don't know how many times I've ported between them exactly but it's probably around 5 times over the last couple years without issue. I've never had Optus - Optus network ports be problematic either. Maybe I'm just lucky.

  • Phone newbie question here.
I'm currently using a vodafone prepaid, can I take up on this offer? A SIM being delivered once ordered confuses me…

    • It has nothing to do with what you have now. Just activate it with a new number, or port in from a non-Vodafone number if you have one.

      • Oh so I can't use this 10GB with my current vodafone number?

So what are people doing with this new SIM? Are they carrying 2 phones? (Unless of course their phone has 2 SIM slots)

        • I think no calls included

        • I'm afraid you can't.
A dual-sim phone is very handy in this case. Or it can be used with a tablet / laptop with sim card slot, or a Pocket WiFi.

        • Its a data sim, so they use in in a tablet, or iPad

        • @RockyRaccoon:
          @superforever:
          @bugsucher:

Thanks guys for the info! ;-)

  • Been waiting for a deal like this for a while for my infrequently used iPad. Thanks OP.

  • Been looking for something like this for my laptop. Thanks TA!

  • Ahh crap.. I somehow managed to put 2 of these in my cart and didn't notice the $50 total until after checkout.
Anyone know how easy it is to contact and cancel a payment to these guys?
    =(

    • +1

The same thing happened to me last time, unfortunately I only realised hours later and by that stage it was too late to cancel.

They’re very helpful on the phone though, give them a call and hopefully they’ll be able to sort it out for you.

      • Sat on hold for half an hour to nothing until I got disconnected, they don't seem to have any email contact either.

The icing on the cake is that nothing got tracked from cash rewards anyway.
Guess I'm out $50 and shit out of luck unless TA can help or something?
        Sigh..

        • +1

Hi Stoibs. Appears it didn’t track because you bought two. Call Voda first thing tomorrow and hopefully they’ll allow you to cancel both. Then reorder a single one via this deal. Good luck.

        • @tightarse: Cheers. Yep getting no luck tonight, Hope they don't deem tomorrow too late to cancel. :S

        • @Stoibs: If it doesn’t work out, PM me and I’ll see if there’s anything I can do for you.

        • @tightarse: Called at 8am sharp this morning, and was told it's too late to cancel. No other options are given. A good bargain turned into a loss it seems.

        • @nosrad: Hi nosrad. Real shame you managed to have 2 in your cart without noticing. Do me a favour. Please PM me your CR email address and the order ID (starts with V). I’ll see if there’s anything I can do via my contact. Will try my best but no promises :)

        • @tightarse:

Done. Thanks for your help TA!

Well, I am not the only one who made the mistake. That says something about Vodafone's order system I presume?

        • +3

@nosrad: Got some pretty good news considering. Vodafone has confirmed there are 13 orders in the system so far that have ordered 2 or more SIMS in the one transaction. They will be honouring a single cashback of $21 into each of those Cashrewards accounts at some stage today. Your VF46xxxxxxx order is on that list. Although this is obviously not perfectly ideal for you, it's better than nothing I suppose. The funds will appear in your account later today once Vodafone pushes the transaction through. Ping me if they don't :)

        • +1

@tightarse: Fair enough, I just got a Cashrewards email for one my two orders then, so that all makes sense now and lessens the blow somewhat.
I called Vodafone and indeed got the same response as nosrad in saying that it was too late to cancel. Their suggestion was to give to a family member or something.. bleh.

Sidebar phone/sim newbie question - is there any expiry or date in which I need to activate these by before they become invalid? At the very least I was wondering if I could use and activate the second one after 180 days are up.. =(

      • If it was too late to cancel, what was their solution?

    • Damn. Same here! WHy there are two of them in my cart!!

    • Last time it happened to me too. Couldn't cancel and call centre went nowhere. $50 gone… No cashback

  • Perfect, 27 days left on the last one. Thanks OP!

  • If you don't cancel it before the 180 days will it auto debit your CC and renew it?

    • no. it simply stops working after 180 days.

    • No.

And if you recharge before your credit expiry date (ie. 180 days after you activate; activating within 30 days of purchasing) then your data will rollover.

I would like to know if any data recharge will qualify for the rollover.

  • i am still waiting for my last time $15 cashback, i contacted cashrewards last month. They replied me: your purchase was over 90 days. We cannot track it. But i can see my click history to vodafone.

    • This is correct. Vodafone (or any other merchants) won’t review untracked claims past 60-90 days. Why did you wait so long to open an enquiry? Please PM me tomorrow morning as I’d like to take a look at your account. Thanks.
