just picked one up from big W box hill vic 3128, they said they had sold heaps today for the $797. not sure if they still have more Jeremy (manager) at the store ok'ed the price match to the web price.
this is what i hate about buying online, it takes forever to get your item, at least thats what it feels like

The Darwin store has 5 boxes there, with the $998 price tag… not really in the market for this even though it's a great bargain, so probably won't attempt to get them to price match it.

Picked up a package from Coffs Harbour, 2450, NSW after work for $797.
I actually went to Big W in my Morning Tea break and the manager originally advised that it was an "Online only special" (their website had not been updated to state this lucky i printed a copy of the site) and there was nothing he could do.
Anyway, got back to work, called ACCC on 1300 302 502 and guy on the phone looked up the online special and told me Big W should match the price locally or i could make a complaint as it was:-
* Misleading and deceptive infomation - Section 18, Australian Consumer Law
* False Representation - Section 29(1)(i), Australian Consumer Law
Went back to Big W with my print out and these 2 points. Within 10mins i was walking out with a new package and an apology from the manager :/

I picked one up around 5pm yesterday at Karingal. Apparently they sold about 8 units that day and they were more than happy to match the price of $797 without hesitation.
Was quite a drive down for me but well worth it. I think they may have had more at that time. You might be able to call ahead this morning and see if they have any left as when I called yesterday at midday they told me there were 10 in stock.
Everyone in the Entertainment section of Big W was well aware of the deal. Very good staff indeed :)
[EDIT]: The staff are aware that the deal expired yesterday but since it is showing until the 17th on Big W online you might be able to convince them to do it for the same price. All the best to anyone who is still out to get one.

Yeah there's some sort of delay for info. from courier.
Try again later & you have to enter WOV000XXXX not just the no.
I rang the number on that page as mine didn't show after 48 hours and the guys said the systems not doing well with all the orders, he found my order and i got a call from the courier today saying it's coming tomorrow

Dude quit it. You either work for your own bargain, or you don't get the bargain. Simple as that. No one's going to buy two hoping someone else will buy off him or sell you a PS3 for $250.

I told my brother about this deal, he picked his up from box hill big w this afternoon - last one I think. Seems like a decent deal, the size of the screen makes it suitable for bedrooms or smaller living rooms. And having both an xbox360 and ps3, the ps3 is certainly what i'd prefer to have.
Quite frankly, it's disgusting how you're trying to cash in on this deal.

pretty sure dick smiths has the TV for $597 so you can try bargain with them and you will also get warranty
the warranty comes from sony.
but if you buy the TV from some oz bargainer they might not want to give you the receipt from BigW because they will want it for their ps3 warranty

Like most of you, I ordered mine on the very first arvo this deal was posted. On the 2nd day I read on here that some ozbargainers had already had their's dispatched so I called BIG W Online to see what was going on as mine was still saying "Order in Process". I got told that it will be dispatched by the next day. I was repeatedly told this for the last 3-4 days I've been chasing it up.
It was also very sus when others from Melbourne said they still didn't get theirs while some in Syd did! Anyways I called them today (4 or 5th day since I've ordered) and they told me there was NO STOCK LEFT "due to an IT error overstating stock"! I told them I was one of the first to place an order and others have already received theirs blah blah blah…you name it, I said it! In the end, it was pointless as the guy kept repeating the same shit. I was so pissed and ended up getting a refund. I suspect that they knew that they didn't have enough stock and only posted orders which were in SYD to save on postage costs. If you were somewhere else other than Syd and received the item, please let me know.
BOTTOM LINE: This may or may not apply to everyone here, but I'm posting this so you guys are aware and at least find out whats happening with your order. CALL THEM! But unfortunately, if you haven't received it yet…I'd say its unlikely that you will.

hmm my problems different, i got the email saying its dispatched and its on the tracking system but hasn't got past first step and its been 4 days and haven't got it…. further up this page someone in Melbourne already got theirs
have a go at them. call back. they were giving you misleading information and you are entitled to your purchase. if you were repeatedly told that your buy was secure, then they are under obligation to give it to you.
the stock is on hand at stores and can be transferred if needed.
remember, businesses have to keep the consumer satisfied with service. the whole thing is that resolution needs to be an agreement between the 2 and negotiated. there is still stock out there so i dont see why they shouldnt be able to get you one at store level. if you're ever stuck when dealing with a business and trying to resolve an issue, if they ask "are you happy with that?" or "are you ok with that?" as soon as you say yes , you've accepted their terms and the negotiation is over. push till you get what you want or at least closer to what you want.

I'm actually ordered it just about 1 hour before the website said you can't order online anymore.
Im in Syd, ordered around 1pm on Monday, haven't got diddly squat.
Did however receive a call saying it would be delivered tomorrow (14/01/11) between 9am-4pm.
Just got a hefty fine among other costs suddenly sprung up on me, so I might have to offload this.
I'd rather sell it to you guys than return it, I will post here should I need to get rid of the bundle.

@tiny88, i ordered at 10:45am the day the deal was posted and my order status was Order in Process too for 2 days, the third day the link for order status was dead, im not a registered user on bigw and used the checkout as guest option when i ordered, so u get this link to track ur order, mine was dead after 2 days, third day i called them up to see whats the hell is going on as i was reading here that most people were reciving theirs in melbourne after 1 day of placing order!!!! so here i am in sydney and i didn't get squat, what the guy on the phone said was that there has been high demand and theiy sending them out, i told him i ordered 3 days ago, i know people who recived theirs the next day after ordering and i have ordered it on monday, so he takes minute, he says oh we did call u up sir to confirm that the delivery time, they havent cause i have been at home all day for the past 3 days!!! stupid customer support guy!!! than he tells me that my number is missing few digits!!wtf, i told him didn't u just say that u called me up, than he changed the subject, hi is like ok sir u will have ur package PROBABLY within the next 4 business days which makes it sometime next week!! this is bull, some people in melbourne getting theirs after 1 2 days and here i am after 4 days with NOTHING, man if i dont get nothing i will be PISSED!
