  • Thanks Op. If only Amazon has a good deal on the Ambiance White lamps which I am hoping to get 3 off. I dont need anymore the colour changing lamps.

    • Their price isn't bad really at $45. Order 2 and use the AMAZON20 code and I think you'll get them for $70 with free shipping. Considering the non ambient ones are generally $30 thats pretty good.

      • Thanks mate. I thought the Amazon20 code is only meant for "new members"? I have been an Amazon member for some years now. I wonder if I still qualify…

        • Generally yes - as long as you haven't purchased a physical thing yet (i.e. ebooks and services don't count, this is $20 to buy something tangible with the opening of Amazon AU warehouses/retail)

        • +1

I've bought things on Amazon US for years and it works when you buy your first physical item on Amazon AU

        • As other noted it applies to purchases from the Australian store. I used the code the other day (bought hue globes myself actually), having been a member on the US store for ages.

The other options would be to use a partner or family members account or to just create a new one if you’re so inclined.

        • @enigma48: Great. Thanks for that. I will try.

  • Link is still showing $279 - where is discount applied?

    • Discount is applied at checkout

      • Referring to the 20% off, not the additional $20 new user.

Added to cart, still showing original pricing.

Edit: Ignore above, for some reason I needed to log out and back in again to show the promotion.

  • Would love to try the Hue but I just can’t justify the cost when Yeelights are a fraction of the price :(

    • Yeelight uses WIFI and often I found I lost connection, delays and had to setup again.

Personally, go Philips hue (get a starter kit), then wait until IKEA release their lighting options locally, which will be a lot cheaper than Philips.

They are zigbee lighting, so compatible with Philips Hue.

      • I read about this too. but there is no confirmation when this will be avail in australia?

        • From what I can see, USA got it first; and UK/Europe only earlier this year.

IKEA expected it to be in Australia late 2018.

      • I’m pretty new to the Hue world - have you (or anyone else) read about mixing US/AU systems? (Eg using EU/US bulbs in AU, or Ikea US bulbs in a Hue AU system)

I’ve heading overseas in a couple months and was thinking about picking up parts in multiple places. Assuming 100-240v and the same standard, I’d assume it should all work together but know it’s not that easy sometimes.

        • EU is fine, as they run 220/240; hence look out for bargains on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de

US run 110; and not compatible in Australia. They need to be different to ROW…

        • @Daemonseed666: Thanks - was planning to do just that. Managed to get the colour system at a very good price ($170 -10% payback -10% payback-gift-cards, so $130ish). Now to find the time to get it all set up..

    • You pay for reliability.

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP orderd 2 Kits for gifts and a light strip

Is $48 each the best price im going to get for the Motion Sensor?
