  • I wanted to get your genuine opinions on what you thought of this game. It got such good reviews, and I liked it, but I really disliked the collectible nature. A map is just filled with stuff to find, and most of it is very well hidden, yet irrelevant (some cloth or hides). As an OCD gamer, this drove me up the wall. I absolutely had to 100% each map, and spent too long digging for treasures that ultimately were not worth the trouble.

The first game had this also, but they were part of quests. The map wasn't marked by treasures where you only find crafting materials that you're likely to be full on anyway.

    • Eh, I liked it. Probably a bit worse than the first game, but the story and gameplay was good enough for me to finish it.

      • +1

I liked the combat enough, just didn't like the collecting. Yes I know it's mostly optional, but tell that to someone OCD about completion.

I didn't think the climbing is as good as Uncharted. In that game as long as he reaches his hand toward the ledge you're pointing at, he's guaranteed to make the jump and won't fall. Lara fell a lot for me, even though I got the visual cue that it's ok. It seems to require some precision which leads to frustration. With Uncharted, mistakes don't happen like that. It's forgiving. If you can't make the jump, he won't jump. If you can, you'll get visual confirmation. I don't know if it's a bug, or just bad implementation.

Shooting is fine. Upgrading weapons and skills feels rewarding.

I liked the first game better, although that game had a strong case of ludo narrative dissonance.
