    Excellent game.

For those wondering, this is the game that the recent film is based on. This game (and its sequel) is much better than the movie.

    • +4

Trailers looked like the movie was based on both games. Took the bad guys from number two and set them on the same island as the first.

One of the few games I finished more than once and I like it much more than number two. I think cause Lara is much more vulnerable in the first one, you're engaged more. In the second game (and the film as well based on trailer) she starts out as a bad ass immediately so it's hard to think shes in any danger.

You kill a bear during the prologue chapters with poison gas arrows you made from tree bark or something…

This is true, the second game almost feels as if she's a complete character already, with no room to grow. Also like you mentioned, very Macgyver. Still enjoyable overall in my opinion.

The movie did have elements from Rise, but for the most part the storyline was very close to this one (albiet making the storyline more 'realistic').

    • Name a game that wasn't better than its film adaptation..

      • +2

Played the Crying Game once. Watching movie was much better.

        • Was the game made based on the movie, or was the movie made based on the game?

        • @lostn: it was very meta. It's about a guy, playing the game.

The rise of tomb raider 20 year’s celebration is also on sale.

    • Thanks mate.. 👍 will update

    • Hated that game.

    • Rise of the Tomb Raider is on GamePass. So, if you have GamePass, or you are happy to use the 14 day trial, you could play it for 14 days.

      • Do you get all the DLC on Game Pass?

I've got the disc of the base game, but never seen the game and DLC this cheap.

Season Pass on its own is only $13, maybe I should just get that to go with my disc version

  • Both games are fantastic. Looking forward to the next one in the series later this year.

I didn't like the collectathon nature, especially of the second game.

Apparently you can learn new languages very quickly just by viewing scribbles on the wall. You need these languages to decode obelisks which reveal where treasures are buried under ground. But those treasures are crafting items like cloth. Not sure who regarded those as treasures important enough to hide in an obelisk with some foreign language.

This deal makes me wonder how cheap a game has to get before someone who never gets a chance to play anything will buy it. I almost ought titanfall 2 last time but didnt and not 5.99 is getting pretty close to the line.

  • Do you need xbox live for this deal?

    • +1

To get this pricing, you need any Xbox Gold subscription, including 2, 7 and 14-day trials.

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider is so much fun!

  • bought a new xbox 1 clearance from target Pakenham and snapped this deal online.

  • beware, rise of the tomb raider 20th anniversary has issues loading on xbox one.
