No deal, you can get 2TB Samsung for $99 @ HN

It'd be long sold out by now….

Anyhow, USB 3.0 drives are as cheap as $85 from ARC computers or $89 from MSY.

Why pay $84 for a USB 2.0 drive when USB 3.0 drives are just as cheap?

      • I was in HN Chadstone Vic on Sunday and they said they'd take orders for the 2Tb @ $99. But you need to pay up front and they call
        you when it comes in.

They said it was expected next week sometime.
        HTH.

    • any stock left? where?

BTW does anyone know the difference between this and the Mac version? I don't see why a non-Mac version can't be used with Macs and thus justify the higher $129 price tag?

      on backorder though

      • bring in the dse catalogue to ow PM for $79.80

    • Mac version is preformatted for Mac.

The "normal" version isn't - you have to format it yourself (extremely easy to do using disk utility and google)

    • Mac version probably has a firewire port as well.

  • Mac version is formatted for Mac, big deal, and HN have the 2tb 3.5 and the 1tb 2.5 for about $129 in their latest catalog me thinks…

  • this is deal = meh.

    love the enclosure though.
anyone throwing their old WD my book away?
I would pay you for the enclosure :)
