  • Are these locked or unlocked?

    • Unlocked based on the previous posts. I haven't tested it myself.

I bought fro last promotion. The signal is terrible.

    • Hmmm strange.
I tested it in my client's office and was getting 70Mbps down and 30Mbps up. Maybe it is the location.
I tested at the same location and same time with a E8372 White Telstra Wingle 4gx and getting 30Mbps down and 12 Mbps up.

      • I tested at the same place compared with this one and my phone.
        20Mbps download VS 35Mbps.
The main problem is the speed of this modem decreasing when the device is heat.

  • I'll second @Mangosteen's comment, yes, the signal is bloody awful. HOWEVER having said that I was previously with Telstra and could never get a signal deep down in basements etc, but with Optus, despite the terrible signal it works perfectly down in just about every basement I've been in. Go figure! I've stuck with Optus because I'm a Netflix glutton and I need the unlimited Netflix streaming.

    • Optus has unlimited netflix streaming?!

Anyone know if these have an external antenna jack?

    • -2

      No, they don't

    • +2

yes it does - '1' and '2' - see the pic of mine, https://imgur.com/a/YbGfvsA

      • Legend, cheers!

      • Anyone go a link for suitable antennas for these TIA

  • Can anyone recommend be SIM modem that supports Optus, has ethernet (to connect to my router), supports an external antenna and and has carrier aggregation support ? The Netgear 2120 comes close but has no carrier aggregation support and the Optus AC800S come close but has no ethernet support, nor external antenna support (I think).

I am on NBN Sat and there is a shiny new Optus tower on the hill near me and I want to chnage my Internet to Optus.

  • Be careful as Netflix may be free data but the ads aren’t . Which one s pretty sneaky but no doubt it’s in the t&c somewhere

  • Anyone know how to claim the free data? Do you have to recharge first?

    • I think you do, I can't see see a way around it

  • Wow thanks @Garagesale I didn't know there were ads hidden within Netflix.

And to @Tech and Cars yes Optus has unlimited Netflix, Stan, Channel 7, ABC, Google Music and Spotify streaming.
