    St…. what?

  • +14

I would advise ANYONE considering centrecom to check the comments on the "10 day sale" deal, I don't think ANYONE who ordered from them is happy with their current customer service.

  • +8

Generic usb key with Centrecom logo , Yes Please! lol

  • It's not super cheap, but it's hard to find a cheaper one with shipping included

    • +1
      give them a break guys

      • +2

If they replied to my emails or simply put an explanation on here to whats happening, I would gladly give them a break.

        • I agree.

        • Same here. To me it doesn't make sense to continue to deal with a community you have "burned" not long ago where the issues are yet to be resolved.

So the rep has time to post a new thread but has decided to ignore the chorus of complaints in the previous thread. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36840 . Not good, not good at all. MLN will always get my business over you guys.

    • +1

      MLN plus 1

      • plus 1, even though i got a call from mln saying they couldnt fulfill my original order, atleast i got a call lol

  • +4

tried to pay with creditcard and they asked to provide proof of bills, copy of the card with sig plus other thing??? far out so much trouble… maybe they never heard paypal? thumbs down!

    • +2

Be warned if you pay via internet banking which they push you to do, they hold your money and then after 2 weeks you have to try hard to get your money back because they didnt dispatch your order. Total Disgrace.

  • +9

I highly advise that nobody buys anything from this scam company. they take your moneny and twist the rules after 7 days from your purchase date then you have to run after them to get your money back:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36840?page=1

    • +3

I think they should be spending time sorting out the sale they already failed to deliver on and issuing appropriate refunds before they expect the community to begin supporting their store again…

  • +4

TO CENTRECOM THE PURE SCAM COMPANY

    “Hi

This is fully unacceptable. I placed my order on the 24th of December and nowhere on the site mentioned that it was limited to one item per customer.
Furthermore I never received your newsletter on 31/12 and even if I did its not worth the keystrokes that typed it as my order was placed on the 24/12 i.e. prior to the claimed newsletter date (31/12).

From my point of view what you are suggesting is both illegal and unethical as:

1.I lost the opportunity to buy from other competitors such as MLN and Harvey Norman that had similar pricing on the hard drives on Boxing Day and now the prices are gone up again.
2.I have transferred the money on the 24th of December as requested and now after 12 Days you send this unacceptable response.
3.I am sure hundreds of orders were placed and you send them the same response below which is nothing but pure scam.
I will give you the chance once again to fulfil my order completely as I have placed it without any alterations.

    Awaiting your response”

    guys
the point of a negative vote is to alert everyone else to a potential issue… this has clearly been done!
ie there is no need for more negative votes.
I have used centre com twice.. once to order a voip modem and once to get cheap RAM and for that purpose they were great.
I would very happily go in and buy a USB drive from them in store (based on what has happened recently dont know about online)

my point simply is the point has been made….

    • +1

Another issue I have with them is that they do not honour instore prices. The prices they have online are "online only" prices - for instore, they are more but there is nowhere to find the instore price besides their green guide advert.

    • +4

Well mate I want my order delievred or my money back and I am gonna keep complaining till I get what I want. I have even logged a compalint with consumer affairs.

      • i hear you loud and clear
I am not trying to spruik (or is it spruke) centrecom
just didnt see a point in 20 negative votes for a deal that is ok (assuming they honour their orders)

        • +2

well the previous deal was ok but till they changed the rules 7 days after I placed my order.

am sure hundreds fall in the same trap and just calculate the amount of interest they are making because of our money. This is unethical and dirty business.

        • +2

Also the REP didnt even bother to say sorry. how rude.

      • +2

Good on you buddy! We really need to teach them a lesson.

  • +1

Poor service and business practices aside, stay away from these sticks. I have one of these and they are horrendously slow and I keep losing data on them as well.

  • +2

I found quite adequate 'name' brand 16Gb USB sticks at Hardly Normal (non-on-line-do-you-like-our-funky-dot-matrix-printers shop) in the past few days. $19, I believe…

  • +1

    this company sucks !!

    reminder me with COTD :(

    • +3

      COTD is way better.
as with COTD you just end up missing on the deal.
While with Scam Centre they take your money and 2 weeks ;ater tell you oh we cant make it and they keep holding your money and dont answer your emails and their phone number is busy all the time or you stay on hold forever.

  • +1

Extremely poor customer service. It is not the poor level of service that truly irks me, but rather the blase attitude towards the whole thing. Are we faceless cattle?

  • +1

    dodgy

  • I believe CentreCom used to be CompuCentre.

    http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/compu-centre-melbourne-…
    http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/centrecom-hawthorn-pty-…

Given I had to take CompuCentre all the way to the Small Claims Tribunal many years ago just to get my money back on a non-functional PC, I've always avoided CentreCom. It's my understanding that they simply rebranded a few years back because their CompuCentre name was in the toilet, but it does not seem to have changed their practices.

Edit: Previous experience with CompuCentre is obviously first-hand knowledge whereas awareness of CentreCom practices is based on second-hand reports.

  • +2

i want my order or just give me back my money i have sent numerous emails with no reply never again

  • +2

Plz - no more Centrecom here!

    • +4

is there scope for the mods to force centrecom to address these issues before they are allowed to post again
clearly there is a lot of unrest.
this isn't one or two people with a bone to pick.
the centrecom rep shouldn't have the right to post when it suits him/her then bugger off and ignore our issues??

      • +1

At least the mods can email the centrecom to address our issues or provide a phone number for us to call since they dont reply to our emails.

  • +1

So Guys did anybody manage to get a reply or their money back from Centrecom with regard to the previous Deal (Not) ????????

    • +2

no email no order and no money

  • +2

    ouch, how rude of them.

  • +3

I just called now and the Guy says the internet department has relocated and the only way to contact them is via email. Guys I highly suggest you all call Consumer Affairs Victoria before they run of the country with our money.

    • +1

You probably called the wrong number, it is (03) 8311 7600 and the prompt is #3, hope that helps.

      • +1

That's exactly what I have done.
Phone: (03) 8311 7600 and #3 and what the guy claimes is mentioned above word for word. I didnt even bother arguing with him.

  • +1

Centrecom are an unethical company whom I would avoid. I was going to buy a laptop from them last year, however on their website they showed a video of the laptop with specs listed being incorrect (stated it had a different chipset and graphics chip, making it seem much much better than it was). I questioned them about this, and their response was that it was the same model laptop even though the specs were different. I said their website was misleading in regards to the actual product being purchased, and asked if they could update the page to reflect this. After some time they did not reply and left the misleading specs as is, so I lodged a complaint with fair trading. Ever since then I've avoided them.

  • +3

Just to point out, some Harvey Norman stores are still doing a cheaper deal than this, with a more reliable brand-name product. => Lexar 16GB USB for $19.

  • +2

Unbelievable that the rep is simply ignoring us..

    • +1

Because the longer they hold our money the better its for them.
I suggest you all cancel your orders, get your money back and then contact Consumer Affairs.

      • +1

I have just emailed them to Cancel my order and refund me, I'm over this bullshit I have never dealt with a company like this all my other online shopping experiences are perfect eg. I ordered some shoes from the USA on Monday morning and I had them on my doorstep on Thursday morning THATS SERVICE!!! 4 days to get something from other side of the world

        • oddballshoes?

        • +1

Eastbay best service very fast :)

    • If I was him I wouldn't either. Despite the neg votes, it's still a great free advertisement opportunity, since most people will ignore the votes and comments and still click through and purchase the item. If he stays quiet and doesn't incriminate himself, he won't ever get banned on here and is free to keep listing stuff and making sales!

  • Wow, had one in the shopping cart till i saw I had to sign up to checkout. Glad I didn't..

    +1 for laziness

  • +1

do not ever buy from centrecom ever!

  • +1

Dodgy & poor customer service! Avoid at all cost!!!

    • +3

Whatever you think of CentreCom the company, that attack on the rep is unwarranted.

  • +4

I think this "16GB USB Key" offer has now turned to CentreCom bashing. Remember the negative votes are for the product rather than for the store. Any complain about Centrecom's 10 day sale should go back to the original thread.

Due to the number of negative votes they'll be temp banned for a few days at least. Meanwhile I am closing commenting here.
