I have this phone, gotta say it's great, still I would probably go the HTC 10 given the price difference, also this model is not good in low signal areas

Nah, the model should be good. It's just the carrier is bad in certain areas.

This should really be under $500 by now to be considered a "deal". Agree with marchi, HTC 10 at $349 is way more bang for buck, even though the S7 is slightly better in a few areas (camera, screen size, premium finish).

    • The HTC 10 is definitely the better phone, though having both phones on hand I would also say the 10 is better than the S7 in terms of camera image quality and build quality, while the S7 has better software, screen and battery life.

  • The 3600mah battery is the reason I've not upgraded from this phone yet. But note that the battery depreciates quickly relative to Samsung's new offerings.

  • For a little bit less, does anyone think the new Sony Xperia XA2 phone a better phone for the price? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/so…

    • The S7 is better hardware wise, but it is getting its last major update of android (oreo). The XA2 was released this year and would be expected to receive updates over the next year or two. Personally I would get the S7 over the XA2.

    • The S7e has a higher resolution screen; has 300mAh more juice (which might be offset by the beefier processor), has 1GB of RAM more than the XA2. The XA2 doesn't have AC WiFi and wireless charging.

Do not buy this phone. I have returned this as a faulty product. Search about s7 edge pink line on screen.

    It is a known issue.

    • I don't know about this being a widespread issue. I had mine for just over a year and never had a single screen-related issue. A friend however had this issue you described - after his kid dropped the phone a few times.
