  • Anyone know how well these compare to the jaybird x3?

    • I think the Sony XB00BS are better.

      • Agree for me they are more comfortable. Crazy cheap.

  • Does anyone know if all JB Hifi branches have the same ABN? I want to buy something else to add on to the Sony headphones to get TRS.

    • Should just buy at the same place / online.

  • I’ve always had ear problems (drums burst multiple times as a kid) and I’ve always found these in-ear earbuds to feel like they’re putting pressure on my ears, sometimes painful sometimes not, often it feels like when I’m trying to put these types of earbuds (in-ear) in my ears they really need to be pushed in to fit properly, which I find very uncomfortable. Does anybody have any suggestions? Am I doing it wrong?

Why not on or over-ears instead?

      • Are the on-ear ones, are they like the standard Apple earbuds? Thanks for the suggestion about the over ears but I need to some times use ear muffs and or goggles so they wouldn’t be suitable, I’d need more than just the over ears.

    • +1

I find in-ear uncomfortabke when worn long period of time. So maybe get normal ones or over-ear instead for you.

      • Will do, it seems like they’re sort of an acquired taste so to speak. Do you know of any decent normal style ones that are also Bluetooth? I’m not real sure about the Apple earbuds, they look like they’d easily fall out and if I’m in the garden if they did never to be seen again I suspect.

      There is a technique.

If you're using rubber tips, push in and twist until they are pretty deep, then pull out a little to relieve pressure. Tap on the headphone body to make sure the seal is tight - should sound like a stethoscope.

That said, heaps of people hate canal phones. You're not alone.

      • Ah ok. Thanks for the guidance. I know from using ear planes for flying that it would be uncomfortable to try and put them into my ears.

        • Yeah if ear plugs aren't your thing then canal phones probably won't be either. If it's just discomfort maybe familiarity will lead to comfort, and if it's pain maybe you have to be careful with size.

But the shape of the ear canal and pinna is very individual, so you might just never suit canalphones at all.

PS I recommend Sennheiser hd25 if you want an on ear headphone. Not cheap though.

        • @ozbjunkie: Thanks for the recommendation. I love my tunes so might just be something I have to save up for.

  • What are those Jams like that are $65 in the catalogue?
