Use your original cable or a third-party-certified one (such as MFi).

Which MFi cable do you suggest for the above Android devices?

    • +2

You can't go wrong with getting either an Anker branded one or another brand that continuously has sales posted on ozbargain is Blitzwolf (Blitzwolf is generally cheaper than Anker before sales). My opinion is to keep an eye out Blitzwolf sales posted on ozbargain or just buy either of the two now

There's no suggestion that the MFi refers to Android. They are covering themselves by saying use third party certified or original cables.

Talk about digging deep looking to pick the eyes out of a deal or just classic JV.

Where exactly am I criticising this deal?

        • You are being childishly sarcastic, but we still like you.

No I wasn't. I was asking for advice.

        • @jv: pizzaguy nails it.

The only difference I can see based off the specifications is "Nickel-plated Reversible Connector Heads" rather than "Nickel-plated Connector Heads", difference in build and cable diameter

One is plastic sheath, the other is braided nylon. Plastic sheath is the newer model, but some may prefer the look/feel of braid.

This deal may still be active which is for the Tronsmart CC2TF 2 Port QC3.0 Car Charger. It should come to <$9 AUD delivered, although shipping time will be considerably longer. You could probably get faster shipping for a lot less than this.

I tried testing the code and it says only 1 use per account, so it may not be expired.

    • Bought thanks, I don't think I need to spend $30 on a car charger

    • The Tronsmart gives 2 QC3 ports, this Anker is one QC3 and a QC2. My Tronsmart arrived about a week ago, so a month for shipping. Which was long enough for me to forget I ordered it and order a Baseus charger from Aliexpress, which has not arrived yet.

      • How's your experience with the tronsmart so far? Need a car charger but only ever really tried Xiaomi as a brand. Have yet to try other foreign brands.

        • So far it's working fine. I've been using the Tronsmart 5 port Quick Charge desktop chargers for a while with no problems, so I don't expect any issues. Tronsmart deals are fairly common here and I can't remember any major complaints.

  • does that have a better output than this one:
    https://www.gearbest.com/iphone-cables-adapters/pp_269157.ht…

just bought a new lightning cable recently and it wouldn't start charging when plugged in the xiaomi adapter (the other usb slot is used for dashcam) which was interesting. the lighning cable works fine when plugged in a normal outlet, so I'm guessing the car adapter just not drawing enough power when both usb slots are used.

  • Look at the shape of it!

    • Look at the shape of it!

If it fits pretty flush I wouldn't haven't a problem with the shape. USB A slots are rectangular so it's not totally odd to have a squarish shape. My only complaint is why isn't there a slot in the middle as well. That looks like a lot of wasted real estate.
