Have been hunting-about for one of these for ages, but couldn't bring myself to spending $100+

Wandered into my local (Alexandria) Bing Lee store today and spotted a shelf FULL of them for $49.00ea. I almost fell over. But my patience was rewarded when I walked another 300m up the road and asked Officeworks for a price-match. Walked out with one for $46.55.

I reckon my first OzBargain is a good one ;-) Other pricing information below.

      I'd be happy to proxy-buy for people, subject to stock still being available later this week, but suspect the $15-20 for postage (it's a big box!) would turn many people off.

      Good luck finding them on George St….being the smallest Bing Lee in the country, they stock a very limited range. If your in the City, head to Officeworks Wynyard and get them to price match it.

          Officeworks is EXTREMELY easy to price match with …. I done it at least a dozen times over recent years.

          They'll price match any store within Sydney (and suburbs) no need to haggle, no questions asked, just give them the number of a store with stock and the model of the product and your done!

          I remember price matching a mouse once that was $119 on the shelf, and the matched price (less the 5% off they give you) was $28.50.

    Great post! I was considering one of these (my laptop usually fries my balls off) so will grab one of these. How does Officeworks's pricematch work? Do you need the printed catalogue? Or will they call to check?

          Yes, mate, I'm in Sydney. The Officework LPG (ref http://is.gd/k3RhA) does not stipulate that it has to be a local store with stock. For your reference, the following store has 12 units in stock as at 1.15pm today:

      Belconnen doesnt have any in store - but they are shipping one over from Fyshwick for me. Price is 49 dollars in their system.

      I use it with an Alienware m17x - width is more than ample but it hangs over the back about ~1cm or so.

      17" no no problem at all, but you start encroaching over the speaker on each side which may affect the audio a little. My largest laptop is only 15" otherwise I'd take a happy snap for you.

      FWIW, if the laptop is less than or equal to 14 inch, there's heaps of room for a mouse. If it's fail for you, just don't buy one. Simple :-)

      Definitely NOT the same. That's the N500 (which OW has for under $38.92 http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Per…). No speakers. No cooling.

      There's also an N550 which is a smaller version of the N700 - same speakers & amp - but with passive cooling instead of a powered fan.

        I just got one from the OW at Glebe (Cnr Parramatta rd & Ross St). It's priced at $99 but scans at $49. There was one left at the Glebe OW when I was there (an hour ago).

          Yep, can confirm that too. Officeworks CBD sold out but they had it at $99, but Glebe (thanks to Sydney Buses finally!) had three at $49 and i got one. Looks like they'll be sold out, but if it scans @ Glebe, surely somewhere else will scan @ $49 too

    Thanks OP, picked one up from Bing Lee Rouse Hill (NSW) for $49. There seemed to be 1 left on the ground after I picked mine up, not too sure if they had more around the back.

    As far as I know, Blacktown and Carlingford (both NSW) also have stock.

    We just ordered 2 over the phone from Officeworks. Although the lady I spoke to didn't realise why some stores were scanning at $49 since they are $99 on their system. However they matched the price due to that reason. Only cost about $4 delivery for 2 of them which was great.

    This is crazy! I've been calling & running around looking for this product with no luck! Saw the same product at Wireless1-Parra for $136 & they refused to do price match :-(
    Finallly today, I called BL in Haymarket, was told they sold out but I can 'order' and pick it up early next wk with same price. Not bad.

      I just called the Haymarket store and they told me I can have it at the $49 when it comes in if Logitech gives them the same deal.

    Tried Melbourne CBD Officeworks, no deal =/ The guy said the reason is because Bing Lee doesn't ship to their store.
