New pen is $88 on eBay, I prefer it over the old one. Magnets and no clip is worth the extra money alone.
This pen will also has the magnets for attaching it to your Surface device.

New pen has a flat side and it's magnet connection is super strong. I can't find a video but it requires a large amount of force to try and flick it off.
That's an even older pen. The pen with the silver button up top, and that was released when the Surface Pro 4/Surface Book went on sale has the magnetic connector too.
The pen in the video, that was released when the Surface Pro 3 launched has the purple button on the end.
The pen being sold here in this thread is what I have and definitely magnetically connects like the new one.
