Use the Kogan $10 new account referral to get it for $25 delivered?

      • Pretty sure that will work. Time to make a new email address lol

      • I totally forgot about my $10 voucher from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/362673.

For $25 I can't pass this one up! Will help trying to get the misses into a bit of PC gaming, she loves RGB but.. doesn't like gaming.

      • how do i get one of those? cheers

        • use Ozb referral link by typing "kogan" in the search box (top right corner of this page)

      • Confirmed works

    • +1

I ordered from Kogan site, they charged me $9 for delivery as well. Anybody else got this issue?

      • Same here

      • yep i was being happy to get it for 25 but now it is 34

      • same here

      • You can use shipster free trial for delivery.

        • That is not the issue. Problem is, the item is marked free shipping on the website but at checkout, they silently add $9 to the total. Deception, I'd say.

        • I can't get Shipster to work for this and I think it's because the order isn't over $35 it's right on.

        • @stumbows:
Worked for me, $25 delivered using OPs referral code.

    • They have removed the free shipping. Can anybody take a screen capture, if they can still see free shipping and share it with us? I might need to dispute the shipping fee.

  • Doesn't look as though a wrist rest can be mounted to it?

    • Just place a separate wrist rest in front of it.

      • I've got a Varidesk (standing desk) that has a cutout where the wrist rest normally goes. There's no problems using a keyboard where the wrist wrest is anchored to the keyboard, but if it's free floating then it will only have contact on the extreme edges and be prone to bending downwards over the cutout.

I bought it anyway for $25, will be using it with the spare computer.

Had mine for a month or so from the last deal, was too loud to use at work but enjoying using it at home. The RGB lights are good for astounding small children, if that is a help to anyone.

    • You can buy Rubber O-Ring's to assist with dampening the clack.

      • +2

Doesn't help with the click though.
And I measured the decibels with and without o-rings, it's the same

      • +2

O-rings help with reducing sound if you really heavily bottom-out, but they don't help at all with the loud click of a blue switch.

    • +2

Out of all the people who looked at my keyboard the one that giggled like a little girl was my mother haha

    • Blue switches are the loudest around, look for some Cherry MX Brown/Red. They're both relatively quiet for a mechanical keyboard, add some o-rings and you'll lose the bottoming out sound.

  • If stock runs out on the DSE website there's the Kogan website linked above. If Kogan stock runs out then it's on both DSE and Kogan eBay for $37.62.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kogan-RGB-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyb…

    • The Dick Smith web site and Kogan probably runs by exactly the same backend stock inventory system and ordering system. So if it's sold out at the Dick Smith web site i would say it would be automatically sold out on the Kogan web site too. This is why both web sites tend to have exactly the same prices.

      • That's a good point.. all the different links are most likely pointing to the same inventory SKU on the same shelf in the same shared warehouse.

        • Yes. As far as i'm aware Kogan doesn't have a separate warehouse for the Dick Smith web site. All comes from the same warehouse through the same backend ordering system.

    • How for $37?

      • There were $37.62 but now showing up as $47.30. Same story as the main link - they noticed they were selling a lot and figured they could up the price.

        • Still cheap I suppose

    • These links still work, main site sold out.

  • Maybe I'm old fashioned, never a fan of RGB keyboards, kind of light pollution to me. Blue switch requires very strong hit every time, but price is rather nice…

    • Blue switches wouldn’t require a strong hit as they register a key press when they “click” (before bottoming out).

        http://www.keyboardco.com/blog/index.php/2012/12/an-introduc…

"Blue switches are favoured by typists due to their tactile bump and audible click, but can be less suitable for gaming as the weighting is relatively high – 50 cN – and it is a bit harder to double tap, as the release point is above the actuation point."

I am currently using red switches, much lighter than blue switches when typing for long time.

    • You don't have to have the various bright RGB light flashing. I just set mine on white colour in lowest brightness constantly on for my father to use it.

    • You can disable them completely.

Bought it from the last deal but its too damn loud. Switched back to my logitech membrane after a week.

    • +1

Quietness is the only thing rubber membranes have over mechanical switches; if you aren’t concerned about key feel, tactility etc. then they are fine.

      • Actually I used it for about 2 weeks thinking I would get used to the noise but I was wrong. But when I switched back to membrane, I started to notice how mushy the membrane keyboards are lol

        • -1

          Thanks almost bought one..

        • @jayzorz:

Don't listen to him. Mech keyboards are better than membrane in every single way

        • Blue switches are by far the loudest switches, try some red/brown they're much quieter (:

  • +1

Got it for $25 delivered using referral. Also purchased some rubber o-rings for $1 off eBay as the comments above were worrying.

    • referral code?

  • What's the general consensus on this keyboard? Good for the price?

    • +1

For a mechanical keyboard, it seems a bargain! My mechanical keyboard costs $150.

But we aware of the blue switches, they make a click sound. Check out YouTube videos.

  • +2

Personally Blue switch is too loud even with ring install. Prefer the brown

    • Yeah I run browns, very good switch. They are even probably at the top end of my tolerance for volume too.

      • Brown switches are the best for me also, they still have a small bump but are much quieter and easier to actuate. I tried a blue switch cheapy after using brown for a while and I couldn't stand them. If anyone is considering getting a mechanical without trying one first, I strongly suggest avoiding the blue switches if you have any doubts about volume.

  • +2

blue switch lol might as well add a custom command to scream through your speakers when you type

  • I think people who didn't know and then found out Blue switch is too loud for them, should have gone to a computer store to check out the sound of various mechanical keyboards if possible. Blue is the loudest and most tacile, red is the softest but mushiest feel, brown is in the middle. There are a few other colours with slight difference.

  • OP You can also add Kogan link here to get benefits for kogan referral by updating your code here :)

    • +2

I think someone else is trying to take advantage of that.

      • +1

        🤔 who ??
Haha.. Now I know who..@ new deal page 😁

        • +2

          Referral Culture lives on!

      • This deal is not published.

      • +2

He was also harping on scotty for publishing a $20 uber code that supports ozbargain rather than paypal. The benefits from the code for both parties were fully disclosed on the deal page.

      • This time its going to be me now.. This deal got Expired and I have posted new deal with new condition Hehehehe…😂

Edit: LoL mine was valid post as terms been changed to OP deal..Not sure why my post got unpublished as duplicate.. Strange..🤔 😭

    • Too late to see this now, thanks anyway :)

Can you please point me to the instructions where it shows us how to post a referral link?

  • +2

ITS CHARGING ME $9 delivery wtf

  • +2

    I get $9.00 shipping ???

    • +1

I purchased one for $25 inc shipping, however you seem to be correct, it now says +$9 shipping.

      • When and how? I only got $9 delivery after I got to the "Confirm purchase" last step.

        • I purchased it earlier (30 minutes or so). They seem to have updated the listing and removed free postage.

The $25 is from using a referral link.

    • Me also. :(

  • 3 brightness and 13 breathing rate levels
Full anti-ghosting and n-key rollover capabilities

Sorry, a bit of a noob. Can someone explain what these features are? Thanks

    • +3

3 brightness and 13 breathing rate levels

Just refers to the RGB lighting to the keyboard. There are options for the lighting to 'breathe' or pulsate. See here for an example on this exact keyboard.

Full anti-ghosting and n-key rollover capabilities

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOkV9BalNcw

    • +2

13 breathing rate levels = I imagine refers to the lights fading in and out, etc. Lighting effects on the RGG.
Rollover = You can hit many keys at once and the keyboard hardware will detect them, older / cheaper keyboards stop registering after 5, etc.
Anti ghosting = pretty much the same thing, ghosting is when keystrokes get "lost" along the way because too many keys have been hit.

      Edit: Beaten to it.

  • +3

Blue switches are best to use at work
    Ensures everyone’s hears you work.

    • +2

exactly. i'm typing this with a grumpy face as if i have a serious issue that i am currently working on..kjdaskdjlasjlawjk

  • I spoke to Kogan, they are saying " we never have had free shipping on this item "

    • The price anchoring is real. I can't bring myself to pay $9 that didn't exist 30minutes ago

      • Gail:
If the item is on free shipping, t will be on free shipping on our website and I already checked our sales records for customer who placed the same order yesterday and today and all of them has been charged for the shipping fee as it was not on free shipping.

        • +2

I 100% was not charged shipping. Flat $25 came out of my account.

        • Ooooo a straight up lie. With no ability to backtrack (because they "checked the sales records"). I like.

I'd get someone else's receipt or transaction number just to call them out on it and watch them dig a deeper hole, for the entertainment of course.

        • +1

          I didn't pay shipping. Order number VVVCWU3X.

      • Use a free shipster trial to get free shipping.

    • They did have free shipping.
I bought one 2 weeks ago, for $45 shipped with a $10 referral (fake account) making it $35 shipped.

  • Everyone check and see if you where charged a shipping fee.

    • +2

I wasn't charged shipping, my paypal receipt says $25 AUD

      • Yeah same, no shipping fee. Purchased 10 minutes ago. Might've changed though.

The Shipster free shipping trial may apply to this deal though.

  • Yep, im thinking of cancelling my order

  • they added shipping fee on both kogan/dick

  • It clearly says "free shipping" on the kogan website. yet i was charged.

    • -8

They just updated it. RIP deal.

      • +5

You don't neg a deal because it finishes.

        • +1

          Got it, whoops.

    • Don't you check the total before pressing puchase?

  • I paid $25 plain and simple. Them saying no free shipping sounds suspicious now.

  • +1

My receipt from Paypal says $25AUD.
The money taken from my CommBank account is $25.
My Kogan invoice says $35.00 (as it considers the $10 credit as cash).

I did not pay for shipping.
