3 months free Stan via Optus perks. Got email for a recent prepaid mobile account.
Requires credit card, but can cancel immediately and still get 3 months.
Don't use a card or email address you've previously used with stan.

Available to selected Optus customers who have received an email or SMS communication from Optus including the “Get your first 3 months of Stan on us” offer. New Stan customers receive 3 months Standard subscription. Existing and returning Stan customers on a Standard or Basic subscription receive a 3 month upgrade to Premium subscription. Returning Stan customers must re-subscribe to access the upgrade offer. All promotional subscriptions are followed by a paid subscription unless cancelled. Existing Premium Stan subscribers ineligible. Limit of one per customer. Offer must be redeemed by 30 April 2018. Full terms and conditions at stan.com.au/optus/terms

    Is there a general code that anyone can use?

    • I got the email but I don't even see a targeted code. Everybody below seems to assume there's one but it looks like only the recipient of the email can sign up.

        The terms and conditions say

        “Eligible Customers” means select Optus customers as identified by Optus

        So, if Optus doesn't select you, you're not eligible.

        • Yes, so it looks like only I can sign up by clicking on the link in my email, and there is no code that can be given away. AFAICT the only poster who claims to have a code is Dusto, and I don't know what they passed on. Everybody else is just saying I want a code too.

          @greenpossum: When you click on the link in the email, the signup screen opens with the code already filled in, and with a tick alongside it. You then enter your email address and click the Redeem Now button.

          The code gets validated. If you try to redeem a code that's already been redeemed, you get a message that says that you can't use the same code again. If you change a letter or two in the code and try to redeem it, you get a message that says that the voucher code is not recognised.

          So, there is a code, and you can see the code by clicking on the link in the email, and it appears that you can give the code to someone else provided that you do not redeem it yourself.

        • @pjetson: But how do I know the code isn't tied to my email address so if they signup I get the service or at least control of it and they pay. Or my address is made visible to them.

        • @greenpossum: You don't know that for certain until someone tries it. Several people here seem to have been sent other people's codes, so maybe they'll post?

        • @pjetson: It doesnt make any sense, I go to sign up and it says one month and theres no where to put in my voucher!

    "You are currently in your free trial period. If you cancel now, you will lose access to Stan immediately."

    • It worked for me. Does it say that when you click cancel? You will get a chance to confirm of course.

      • Yes it says that after I click cancel and that is the confirmation message.

          This entire thread is coded. You have to understand and decipher the code, in order to even begin to uncode what the code is all about .

    Looking through the Trending TV Shows/Movies list, there's literally only one series (Preacher) and one movie (Passengers) that I want to see that isn't already on Netflix with region unblocking.

    Stan seems like such a waste of time for me.

    For those requesting codes, can you please respond in the thread once you've got one? I'm not subscribed to emails from Optus Perks but if I find my code I'll sling it along.

      Awesome that you're willing to pass a code along, even if you don't get emails from Optus Perks and not interested in Stan.

    • sat through 2 3 month subscriptions. lots of old shows, hardly any new ones. sad.

    I phoned Optus Perks this morning, and told them I had heard about the Stan trial perk, and I said that I hadn't received the email offer. The woman said that it was a targeted offer, but that I should email [email protected] and ask (nicely) for it.

    I sent them an email about an hour and a half ago, and I have just now received the email offer. I don't know whether I was going to receive the offer anyway, or whether my email was the reason I got it.

    Can't hurt to try for anyone else who didn't get the offer.

      Can confirm, they sent me a code a little while after I emailed them asking if I could get one as an Optus (Perks) customer. Thanks for sharing.
