BONUS75

Howdy all,

I recently opened up my first ING account, disappointed that their referral promo had ended I found this offer which was still valid.

Steps are very clear on the website;

  1. Open an Orange Everyday bank account via the website and enter your $75 promotional code where prompted.
  2. Deposit your pay of $1,000+ within a calendar month into your new Orange Everyday by 31 May 2018.
  3. Use your Orange Everyday card to make 5+ purchases within a calendar month (excluding ATM withdrawals, balance enquiries and EFTPOS cash out only transactions) before 31 May 2018.

If you have previously held an Orange Everyday bank account since 1 July 2014, then you are ineligible for this offer

Enjoy

Bring back the 5% cash back on PayPass

    • It's never coming back. The Reserve Bank clamped down on the enormous fees card providers and processors were charging. That 5% cash back came from the profit margins of the retailers, who in turn passed the costs onto you.

      • They passed the costs onto everyone. So in effect the ING master race received a discount financed by cash plebs.

  • How is this a deal? You can always get $75 (or MORE, I have a $100 referral code for example) with ING.
And it's better, because both the referrer and referee get credit.

    • +1

Referral codes are only $25 now. Making this deal better.

      • Do people ever get paid the referral bonus? I had someone sign up using my code, no payment. I'm pretty sure there were threads here of others complaining of the same thing. ING has gone dud.

    • How did you get the $100 referral code?

      • Wait for it. It will come back every other quarter (likely).

      • I think it was part of a short term, time limited offer.

      • My wife and I get emailed with $100 referral codes all the time. There are always people with them. I remember rushing to get 5 people registered for my $75 code the first time, only to get a $100 code the next week lol.
This is another reason to be with ING, and put your referral link in the ozbargain random referral link generator.

    • Yes, the last deal at $100 for you plus your friend was much better.

  • i used to believe that the extra 5 transaction was a hassle, but turns out I made a LOT of small purchases in a month. Sure I lose credit card points, but only for those 5 small purchases which is almost negligible

  • +2

5 transactions are SUPER annoying because i prefer use CC.

    • Buy a bottle of water at Coles, split over 5 x 20c transactions

ING is getting shittier. Closed account fee days ago.

    • +2

Same here - suspect $75 Bonus attempt to replace customers who have dumped them

    • +1

I was using them as a savings account cos they were offering 2.8%. Now with the extra criteria of 5 transactions per month in order to get the 2.8%, no more.

  • Bummer.. I signed up a few weeks ago. Couldn't find any codes or information on how often or when the next code will come.

  • When will they have a promo where Isla Fisher will come over to my place?

    • Ali-G would have something to say about that!

  • I thought if you withdraw $200+ from any ATM the transaction is free. I've had an Orange account for over 5 years, I hardly use it, I just have my pay deposited into that account and send the rest to Ubank, I might keep $300 dollars in the account to withdraw when I need cash. I havn't seen any ATM charges.

  • If you can afford to wait, the $100 refferal offer comes around a few times a year

    • They just announced a $25 referral promo.

  • cancelled this card after they dismiss the 2% cash rebate

MQ debit card is much better

I personally love the Maquarie App, but their savings account interest is aligned with the big four now.

      • +1

Eh, personally that doesn't bother myself too much - if you're keeping any reasonable amount of money in a savings account, you're not using your money effectively. Even if you dump your money into the best accounts available at the moment (3% p/a), you're still losing money once you take into account interest tax & inflation.

But no fee on international purchases

      • all my saving in offset account:(

shite. I signed up 3 weeks ago and got nothing. Even went looking for a deal..

  • Hello, can I open one for my 14-year-old son?

    • The terms and conditions on their website say

      Am I eligible to apply?
      Yes! As long as:

      you're 18 years or older.

    • Macquarie has a similar offering to the ING account, and they'll let a 14-year-old have an account.

does it have to be $1,000 per month to claim rebate or do i only need to deposit one $1,000??

    • +1

$75 bonus is a one time thing. For $75 bonus, only deposit once and make atleast 5 transaction. After receiving your bonus, dump them, and go bank with someone else.

    • How would that even work? Would they take the $75 back off you if you don't continue making $1000 deposits forever? Of course it's a one-time thing.

      • No, you can take the $75 and close the account right after if you want but to get the bonuses like International ATM rebates you need to deposit $1k and do 5x transactions.
You don't have to deposit anything if you are not going to make use of the bonuses, it's still a free account.

  • You know this new +5 eftpos spending to get free ATM withdraws is crap, before all you had to do was deposit $1000 each month into ING from your employer, I like paying with cash, I usually withdraw $200-$300 and use that as spending money until I got to $50 and I would withdraw more, I hardly used eftpos, now I have to jump through hoops whereas before I didn't, it equals a degraded service to their customers than before. It happened in march, I checked and I was caught a $2.50 fee for using an ATM I thought was free. Think I will just go to coles to withdraw from now on, very annoying!!!!!!!!

    • Take a look at the Macquarie account similar offering to what ING has however less requirements and a better mobile phone app.

  • Anyone got the bonus now??

    • Got mine a few days ago :)

      • Cool.. thanks

      • How long did you have to wait between your 5th transaction and the $75 bonus coming in?

    • Got mine

  • its been almost 4 weeks , havent received the bonus, should i call the bank or wait longer?

    • Still have not received the bonus

  • The 5+ transactions to maintain the bonus interest rate was the last straw after losing the 5% and 2% cash back. I've moved over to Ubank with the Usaver Ultra bonus while making most purchases on my fee free Citi Rewards Platinum card to gain points on purchases.

  • This is the response I received after following up on the bonus:
"I can see that you had met the conditions mid April, provided you have not held an Orange Everyday before the bonus will be paid by the end of this month (May). We are unable to say exactly when as we run multiple payment files each month and it will depend on where you are on the list".

  • Received by $75 yesterday. It shows as "Miscellaneous Credit" - Treat-ING you.

Spending criteria was met in the last week of April.
