That's a huge waste of money.

    • if it's purchased, that is

    • RGB increases performance by 2000%. Fact.

Many reports of failed pumps, bad customer services and useless software here. https://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N…

    • does pc auto shutdown when cpu overheats , or just cooking till system kaputz

      • there is thermal throttle point in most modern cpu's

      • I don't know how long AMD has it (I assume their modern CPU does it), but intel systems auto shut down for a very long time now. I remember it happening to my laptop back in 2006-7, when I left my laptop on the bed and it overheated and shut down. Nowadays they also underclock themselves to avoid even reaching that point

    • I bought an nzxt x61 for about $150 3-4 years ago. The main appeal was the 6-7 year warranty, I'm guessing this one probably has a long as warranty like the x61 too. Personally, if my x61 goes for 6 years and dies on the dot, I'd be fine with it. In saying that, $230 seems very excessive for a cpu cooler. Even the x61 at $150 i felt was pushing it really bad.

Hopefully they've replaced the fans too, because the x61 had this common issue where the fans would go bad at <1 year of use. The bearing goes bad and the fan starts making high pitch noises above a certain rpm. This for some reason also only happened when the fan is blowing upwards, you have it in any other orientation and it doesn't make that noise

The customer service thing doesn't really apply in Australia where we can deal directly with the retailer for RMA. In the states they can't just go to the retailer like we can over here, so they gotta deal directly with the manufacturer

      Can confirm.
      Customer service is rotten.
Bugs and features are being reported as fixed / implemented when they are not.
Software / driver often fails to load.
Pump does not respond to CPU temp without software, same for fans if fans plugged into the device.
Software is not optional, it must be used to control pump speed.
No software for OS/s other than Windows.

This has got to be one of the most disgusting pieces of hardware I've ever bought.
      Avoid at any cost.
If i could down vote it a million times i would.

  • I have one and can confirm waste of money.

      What's wrong with it?

My Corsair H100 is over 5 years old and still going strong.

Works great, just overpriced, all about the RGB!

  • These are a lot louder than you'd think if you're too lazy to stuff around with fan speed controls. Default curves won't do the trick; you'll need to create a customized fan curve maxing out at around 40-50% if you want low noise levels. Also note some motherboards don't allow for fan speeds below around 40% - you'd need to ensure your motherboard allows for the lower speeds. Most Asus boards allow down to 20% on the CPU fan.

For reference, I was upgrading from a Ryzen Wraith cooler to this hoping for a more silent build. Anything above around 50% and it was louder than the stock cooler at 100%. I assume it would still outperform the stock cooler even at 40-50% fan speed, but I really couldn't be stuffed with custom fan profiles.

Over all, I would honestly just buy the cheapest AIO you can and slap some noctua's on it. You can get AIO 240mm rads for around $80 these days, then an extra $80 or so for two fans - $160 total.

a couple dollars cheaper isnt a bargain in my eyes. thats why you have no upvotes

        • -1

It's about $25 cheaper inc. postage, a bargain for anyone who wants this exact model… But I don't believe this model is a bargain in anyway compared to other options, as explained in my other comment above.

@dyl: If it was a bargain it would have upvotes. Just because something is slightly cheaper or even the cheapest isnt the same as a bargain. Too much advertising on here imo

          @mitcheo:

I think I summed it up already - it's a bargain if you want this exact item. The issue is this item is naturally overpriced and not a bargain - other options are simply better and cheaper.

Still, someone somewhere may like the LEDs or something and want this exact model - for them it's the cheapest.

          @dyl:

the cheapest doesnt mean its a bargain. This isnt a bargain.

        • @mitcheo:

a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected

It's offered for sale more cheaply than usual, though not than expected (for this item category). Nothing you're saying changes this point - if someone was after this item this is still a bargain, though as mentioned I'm not sure there would be many people after this particular item over other options…

        • @dyl:

I used a x61 for years then upgraded to a x62 and used it for a few months before I threw a hardline loop into my system. Over all they have performed flawlessly in the time I have used them. Cam software is crap since the windows 10 anniversary update ( they changed some boot values and it’s playing havoc with all these types of programs including all my asus software). For pric to performance there are better options like the Corsair variants. But for looks these are some of the best, and performance wise for cooling they are always at the top of the field or within 1-2 degrees of the top. But that said these the Corsair and most aio coolers are asetek products with a companies logo and colour scheme. Asetek
