I'm surprised they still sell this model.

Unless Logitech have changed how these are made, they are extremely prone to wearing out quickly where you'll find one of the axis's not working that well anymore.

    I would get something else.

    • Mine is still going great and working like a new one. It must be about 6 years old. Got no idea what i paid for it. : )

I play Sturmovik with it, pretty full on, from time to time, but it has long periods when it doesn't get used at all.

I've had mine for years too, and I use it almost daily. No problems here. Good, solid joystick.

I got mine for $25 when it first came out. Shows how much the price inflated over the years.

Mine is 13 years old, second hand and still going strong.

    • I have the same joystick and am on my second one. The first one, the top-hat just stopped working (under warranty), got a replacement direct from Logitech… and now the replacement is already on its way out (would still be under warranty if it was 'new'), as bank left and rotation is getting 'stuck' on and I have to flick the joystick (hold it right and let it go) for it to (hopefully) release. I've only had it a few months, eh.

But, I agree… stay away from this joystick, it seems to break very easily.

That picture looks like something else.
A couple beers, that picture, and your opening line - I can very easily amuse myself

Yep you dont want to buy any that were returned due to "not fit for intended purpose".

    • What in Christ's name do you do with sprinklers?

      • You mean those cheap twirling bidets?

  • I still have a Force3D Pro which used motors for tension but also have one of these. The springs on this one are a bit too heavy. Other than that great Joystick for casual gaming. If you're really into flight sims and need extreme precision though, you're probably better off spending big for the better Joysticks though.

I don't have as much time for simming as I use to but mine are a decade or so old and only really have cosmetic wear.

  • I remember getting one for $25 back in the day. Ergonomics are fantastic, and external build quality is great. These do wear out quickly because the potentiometers (the sensors for each axis) are cheap but overall the sticks are fantastic for casual flight simmers. I'd recommend a Thurstmaster 16000m for some extra dosh though as those things have magnetic sensors that don't wear out.
