Sennheiser RS170 Wireless Headphones $245 @ Harvey Norman RRP $449.95

150

I just bought two from Indooroopilly store. I'm posting in my car so sorry can't give you very detailed info. I've been searching for a wireless headphones for a while and this model got quite good feedback. It's closed, with 80m range (i will be able to listen to my tv while walking my dog around my house lol)
The cheapest online is $300+ in Australia, and it will cost similar if you buy from US or UK, and $320+ in China
Heading to DFO now, can upload a better version of receipt later if you need it.

EDIT: Invoice uploaded, please let me know if you need scanned copy

HN Indooroopilly store had at least 20 in stock when I was there, checked with the staff, was told there is no expire date for this deal, until all sold out.

  • Cheers buddy!

  • How do these compare with RS-120?

    • RS-120 is considered as Senheiser's "affordable" range wireless headphones (sold for $80-$100 in US). I didn't consider this model as it's open dynamic (please refer http://headphones.com.au/blog/open-vs-closed-headphones ), and there is no bargain in Australia (cheapest I could find was $178 from OW)

  • great up buddy!

  • I considered these recently as a replacement for my RS130s, but read they had poorly positioned volume controls. It's one of the things that makes my pair of $400+ (discounted to $199 at HN) Philips digital wireless headphones a displeasure to use.

Would love to dump analog transmission, but it's hard to beat analog controls, especially when the digital equivalents are thoughtlessly designed from a user perspective.

    lol 80 meters

  • bleh, no stock in auburn blacktown or liverpool nsw. waste of time

  • Good find! Bought these for around $400 for my friend's birthday recently, he LOVED them.

They are pretty amazing! However they did not hit 80m as far as I know….

He didn't have trouble with the volume as far as I know. Only complaint he had is they are not portable (the headphones are great but the other part is huge and requires AC power).

I own a good pair of bluetooth headphones they cannot be at all compared. Sound doesn't go out of sync either.

Note that these are closed headphones, so they sound great but you can't hear any environmental noise. Great for listening to music/movies but detrimental if you are watching the kids or doing something that requires you to be aware.

Anyway, got off track. Great bargain, thanks OP for posting!

just on a side not, what kind of a name is indooroopilly and where does it come from?

  • Most places are out of stock in WA, and the ones that aren't will only come down to $299, any trick to getting them to price match another store??
