Damn the corner hubs were $10 at target? Unfortunatly probably none left by now. https://www.target.com.au/p/corner-usb-desktop-powerhub-whit…

    • Target always put a very low price on some item and you will never find the stock anywhere.

It would be because they are a clearance item and have limited stock

I had occasion to question their claim that the USB ports were "fast charging"on another one of their boards.
This is the query I sent to the distributor:
Questions about your Compact Power Hub sold by Coles. It has two USB sockets that you describe as being 2.4 amps max. Is that 2.4 amps for each socket or for both sockets combined? Your description "USB Fast Charge" is curious because my devices tell me thst the charge rate is slow so how do base your claim they are fast charge?
      This was their reply:
The 2.4A output is referring to the total output, but it can distribute the 2.4A into 2 ports intelligently. For instance, if only one port is connected, that single port can still output 2.4A.

What device are you charging into the port? Some devices may have the current withdraw limitation to avoid shortening the life of battery like some headphones.

      So this was my response:
Charging a Samsung Android tablet. I don't get the slow charging message when using a board that has two usb sockets marked as 4.2A. That board has a faulty switch which is why I bought yours to replace it, sadly.

They sent me a free USB charger 2 ports 3.5A which I threw into a drawer.

  • All got expensive delivery, no click & collect :(

  • Might have to make the mission in store, need a new powerboard

  • Some chinese products are not worth and waste of money and wish this brand is worth it.

      That's racist!

  • I wouldn't buy these for the surge protection. But some of them look nice and convenient.

    • Why?

They are Surge Protected 175 Joules.

According to the IEEE, the worst case normal mode surge expected inside a building is 6000V, 3000A, 90 joule (J) combination wave.

So these power boards will protect you from 2 worst case surges.

      • They are very short on details. What's the clamping voltage and the reaction time? 175 Joules is quite low. Do you want to be looking at it every day to make sure it is still protected?

I'm just saying, I wouldn't be plugging expensive equipment into them thinking they are safe.

      • The reaction time isn't stated on the Big W website.

If it's not <1ns, these boards are useless.

Hopefully it's on the back of the packaging…

Just picked up two of the white version of this: https://www.bigw.com.au/product/crest-tv-home-threatre-4-soc…
The white version does not have TV antenna in and out slots, so it's normally $26 (black TV version is $32). Half price brings it down to $13.

  • In my experience these boards have been horrendous, the switches broke for me after just a couple of uses which gives me no confidence in the inner circuitry. Bought a 6-socket one and not even 2 weeks later were most switches broken and even causing sparks. Try to avoid despite how cheap these are!

    • I guess it's not as good as Xiaomi board

      • BUT! These true blue made for sale in Australia powerboards won't burn your house down like that other piece of junk made in… China. /s

Still no individual switch per socket to turn on and off.

Back in the days with catch of the day they had those Bosston ones.

Anyone know where to get something similar to those at a reasonable price? Not the Xiaomi non Australian standard please
