I am in the market for a Samsung 65" Series 8 TV.

While shopping around today I came across the 55" Series 7 for $2691 @ Bing Lee, Hornsby.
That is the marked price so in theory it is negotiable further.
Mustafa in that store is a good guy if you choose to buy from them.

JB HiFi in the same shopping centre will beat Bing Lee by $10 making it $2681

However this is smashed by this price from Whirlpool

The $2380 Bing Lee price is by negotiation but JB and Bing Lee's will match it in my experience.

Remember if you buy this TV you are eligible for the Christmas bonus of a 22" TV, plus 4 Shrek movies and 4x 3d glasses

  • You may also be able to get Bing Lee online to match the Hornsby store price if you dont live near Hornsby - just tell them thats the marked price at Hornsby.

  • PS. If you are interested in this TV and don't need/want the 22" or prefer cash instead, I am interested in buying the 22"; others probably are, too.

Otherwise see if similar redemption TVs are selling on eBay and include that value as a future rebate to your costs. :)

Good Guys may also do a good/better deal, so let us know if you are considering this TV.

I'm happy sticking with one of the last of the Pioneer plasma line, but am hunting a 22" for the Mrs' treadmill. :)

    • Good point. You should be able to pick up $300+ for the 22" on EBAY or from bizi…

It will take about 4 weeks to get your 22".

      • Probably closer to 6 weeks. I've been waiting over 4 weeks already for mine.

      • i doubt you would get $300 for it, 22" TV's are very cheap now and a LCD 24" full hd computer monitor can be had for $250.

      • +1

6 months ago they were going for around $550-600 for the 22" Samsung LED TV. For some reason the TVs re always alot dearer than just a plain monitor. Should easily get $300 for it on eBay!!

        • Yep. Have a look at recent sales on Ebay nubzy…..

          This is a Samsung 22", not a Sonic….

        • The current OfficeWorks catalogue (and prominent in-store aisle-end display) has the LG Flatron 23" TV/monitor for $279 so I'd say that's a good ballpark for the moment, for anyone considering selling the redemption 22".

Probably much better than the 22" Bush on BigBrownBox recently (DON'T ASK!!!).

      • I am also looking for Samsung 65” Series 8 TV - what is the cheapest you have found so far? Thanks!

        • For the 65":

          $3499 factory second

          $4500 brand new

No one so far has new stock, all have to order in.

  • Great price on the 55". I was only offered the 46" for that price before Xmas. Settled instead on the 40" for $1900 w/ $100 gift card though at the time!

  • This guy on Whirlpool got the 55" Series 7 for $2380 at Bing Lee in the ACT

    • WOW pricematch yesterday. Very nice work!

So how does this sit in your list of possible purchases, GWH?

      • At $2380 with the Xmas pack thrown in I think I can't resist it.

        • Let's hope it's a turkey (and the only turkey in your purchase!).

          :)

  • FYI a Samsung 22" Series 4 TV's $415 retail, if you want to count that as part of your value, but since it's free and lots of people are getting these, I think you'd not be able to resell the TV for this value.

A LG TV that is larger (23" Flatron full HD TV/Monitor) is at OfficeWorks for $279, which gives you a ballpark value of around $200-ish for the on-sold 'secondhand' freebie redemption 22" TV, if you prefer to have the johnny cash.

Just let me know when you have the TV since I received a lemon from BBB and if they cannot replace it immediately I'd like a refund to get this or the LG TV instead. :)

    • I saw one only the other day (obviously a redemption 22") going for $300+ on eBay.

Dont forget the 22" Samsung is also LED unlike the LG which I suspect is CCFL, hence why they are dearer

  • Damn, saw this too late.
    It's a very good price.

Bing Lee & WOW are currently out of stock, so I don't think I can price match this at JB Hifi or Harvey Norman, with only the receipt print out.

Anyone else has any luck price matching?

    • You can give it a red hot try at JB, Harvey Norman or David Jones.

      I think you'll do OK.

  • Has anyone received their 22" TV by redemption - if you want to sell it let me know, thanks.
