Thanks for the info, you saved me some money $$$
you must be fun at lan events. notice i didn't say parties.
Use your existing headphone and chuck on a mod-mic. No gaming headphone can compare to that
What "High quality stereo headphones" do you recommend?
I'm a big fan of Audio-Technica headphones, its the sort of thing where you listen to them for the first time and will be blown away compared to $50 headphones or gaming headphones.
I recommend open-air headphones as long as you are in an area where some audio leakage is ok (people in the room will be able to hear your headphones)
You'll have to do your own research as to which set to get, the more you pay the better it will be.
I've used the AD700X ($179) and the AD900X ($239) and can recommend those.
They also have a model with a built in microphone but I can't say if its good value compared to just putting a mic on yourself.
Virtual surround sound is a gimmick since they just take regular stereo headphones and slap on some settings to make it seem worth it.
You appear to understand nothing at all about virtual surround.
Tell us more please….
Well for a start you've defined it as something to do with the headphones you buy as well as a gimmick.
@Diji1: No I didn't mate, I didn't define anything.
Does this USB headset works with PS4?
High quality stereo headphones will always be better for gaming.

You are essentially buying cheap headphones but with marketing added on.
Whats worse is the USB version will use a super cheap built in sound card that will be worse then your integrated motherboard audio.
