Does anybody knows beer brewing recipe from these rockmelons? Probably year supply of beer.

    • Try the Mismatch Rockmelon IPA first to see if you like a rockmelon beer.

  • How do u wash it? Just with water ? Is that sufficient to kill listeria off?

Is there a drinking game on writing ‘rockmelon’??

    It’s a CANTALOUPE!!

    • -1

Originally, cantaloupe referred only to the non-netted, orange-fleshed melons of Europe.

Called different things in different countries. In Australia it is a Rockmelon.

Muskmelon (India and the United States), spanspek (South Africa), or capuchin (Scotland) to name a few alternatives.

      • Nice selective Wikipedia copy/paste.

        parts of Australia.

        Education & culture should prevail.

        • Thanks.

  • I just brought a massive rock melon for $2.50 and my wife wants to throw it out tho. I think ill dip it in a bleach water solution before cutting it open

    • If you just bought it you are fine.

The farm implicated has long stopped sending produce out

Love all the comedians, one of my all time classic page. I am in tears….

    • classic after less than half a day.

  • The 'Hysteria over Listeria' is a symptom of employing asians with 0 care for health and hygiene. I talk from experience here, in Bundaberg they are trucked in, farm fresh from backpackers from the train/bus after spending what money they had in Brisbane or Sydney airport. They are under 30 with a uni degree of some sort but ignorant of any idea of western hygiene and health practices. The worst of them are the Chinese as they were brought up with herbal medicine and shitting in a hole for the most part. Its amazing that someone with a uni degree would turn up with diarrhoea (might have even left china with it) to come here and 3 days later be making people deathly ill. No orientation even on health and safety, no care for it either as they are cheated out of wages and made virtually slaves of the backpacking gang chain farming, slave market.

Before you feel sad for them, they get maybe $500-1000 from their family, fly home to concerts and are on the scout for property, visas and randy wealthy men to marry.

I was sucked in by one and felt sorry for her only to have her 'fly home' for 2 weeks and then buy a house illegally… Only child rememeber, they are almost 30 and have never had a real job in china in their life most often. Its a mad, mad world and our pollies are dicks for letting this go on.

    • House in Australia?

      • they love AU realestate after the shit they build in china (seriously all those nice citys you see all lit up at night are by day, crumbly mess! So they come here and buy homes to rent if they need income or keep empty as they dont like others living in their homes

  • I just wondered where they were and googled the name.

    I am in Brisbane.

So I love how their name is Blunder Road Country Markets and it is a fruit shop in the city of Brisbane.

I know I am a pudantic person but seems to be a misleading Blunder. Nothing country about it ….

The days of Brisbanites going across the bridge to Redcliffe to holiday at the beach are long gone. Oxley is not the country

    • Are you pedantic about being pudantic? :)

  • I think we should all stop eating its a well known fact that 99% of people who die, often eat within hours of their death.

  • So one Rockmelon farm in NSW stuffs the whole industry.

You could make a fruit mash out of this and distil.

  • i wish i could get some at this price but all the shops near me are wanting around $4 each.
