  • Is there any interest free period for this card?

  • Good question!

They seem to gloss over this feature and brainwash you with all the other benefits..

  • Not an AMEX fan, but thanks for the post

According to the PDS (in PDF format) 55 days Interest Free (max)

The blue sky Credit Card gives you the opportunity to enjoy up to 55
days interest free on purchases if you choose to pay in full each month.
this interest free credit is available depending on whether you have
obtained a balance transfer, when your statement is issued and whether
or not you are carrying forward a balance from the previous statement
    period.

  • I wonder if they would allow existing AMEX Blue cards to transfer to this offer. My card is up for renewal by Aug this year anyway.

    • You can always threaten to cancel. Not like you are on a contract. I was an AMEX blue member (until an year ago) and got this offer by snail mail yesterday.

  • Seems like a reasonable offer, however I wont be going back to Amex after I found their store acceptance rather low.

And now with shops being able to charge surcharges for credit card transactions, Amex is usually on the higher end of this charge.

  • Good Find! Always good to see banks and credit providers offering no annual fee for the life of the account.

  • It doesnt work!

Sorry, the American Express online application is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

  • yea. it doesnt work now, is there a limit for applying?

    • Hmm not sure … I haven't tried submitting it but the form loads for me in Firefox (on Windows)

  • their application system is on again
and remember u need to earn 40k p.a. to be eligible :P

  • Applied for one using IE 7.0 worked fine. Much better than the Citibank application.

They also have an option to cancel any exisitng AMEx card and transfer to the BlueSky one.

    Now the wait…

  • Can AMEX be used overseas easily (for example in America itself) without the rediculous extra surcharges everyone puts on it here?

    • The surcharge is decided by the retailer. I am sure you can use it in the big restaurants and hotels without woprrying about a surcharge. But because AMEX charges 3% per transaction to the retailer(as compared to 15 changed by Visa and Mastercard), dependng upon the retailers profit margins he/she may choose to charge you extra.
