iPhone X 256GB (Australian Stock) for $1529 @ OzMobiles

560

Was just browsing for mobile deals and I found an Aus stock iPhone X 256 GB for $1529 from https://www.ozmobiles.com.au/cheap-iphone/apple-iphone-x-256…

The store had a suspicious note at the bottom of the page saying "These phones are not sealed (They have been opened and checked)" so I thought I would try a price beat at my local Officeworks.

The nice guys at the Woolloongabba store price beat them with no hesitation, I just presented them with the OzMobile deal on my phone.

NOTE: Officeworks no longer price match OzMobiles.

  • Geez! Still $1450 bucks though…Don't drop it ;)

    • I'm not a fan of Apple myself, it was for a birthday present :)

      • +17

Hey, it's me. Your new friend that is having a birthday soon and just dropped his iphone 7

      • +5

Hey cruiser. My buddy. My pal. My friend. My bday is coming soon.

      • +6

Holy bleep I want to be your friend!! Much better than socks and hand towels :P

      • You certently will get loads of friend requests

  • Only for silver?Gery space is same price?

Careful, Australian iPhones should have 24 months of warranty.

    • Apple claims 12 months local warranty but an additional 12 (or more) under ACL. ACL isn't considered warranty, likely because warranty is honoured internationally and you can't claim ACL warranty outside Australia.

  • What's with all the free advertising for officeworks in the header? It's a regular occurrence.

    • +3

      They're consistent price matchers

  • +2

At this price I'd want it to make me dinner

  • +1

Do you have a receipt to share? Need to buy the misses a phone outright. Pretty good price.

I wonder what “Total Price Match Savings” is meant to mean?
EDIT: Realised it’s the difference between what OP paid and the original Officeworks price.

  • Can someone please share iphone x 64gb receipt if they buy one from Office works.

    • 64G isn't enough for much, reconmend to skip to the next one.

  • +3

Way too expensive for what it is.

  • +7

*12 Month Warranty : if its apple warranty should be 24m
    * Product has been unsealed and "checked" : Why? So they can replace the power plug with an aussie one?

I suspect they are either refurbs or not Aussie models.
given the "wholesale price" from Apple/Ingram Micro/Synnex in Australia is well in excess of the $1529 being charged here i would be digging deeper if i was buying from them.

Also stating the warranty is "manufacturer only" is illegal under ACL.

I would def only be buying one from O'Works in this scenario there is no way i would be giving "OzMobiles" a cent of my money.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Definitely will hit up OW instead if I decide to buy.

    • As I mentioned in another comment, what you get from Apple is a 12 month warranty. You are also eligible for ACL guarantees which extends the "warranty" to 24 months (technically its extended to the 'expected life of the product', so it should be more than 2 years). The reason why its not classed as warranty is because Apple warranty is international, ACL only applies to Australia. Its the same situation with EU consumer laws – Apple will honour extensions to the base 12 months internationally but you can only claim the country-specific extras in the country it was originally purchased in. Compared to something like AppleCare, which is able to be used internationally.

      • Apple Australia does not warrant devices (iPhones, iPads, Watches) that are grey imported.
They are very clear that their warranty is limited to country of purchase on those devices.
have seen first hand their refusal to warrant a device that was bought outside of Oz.

        • Apple will warrant any device (assuming it's not illegal – i.e. stolen) for 12 months. Hence why Kogan stock is covered by a 12 month Apple warranty and not the 24 months (12 month Apple + 12 month ACL). Did you see this happen at an official Apple store? It's pretty surprising because Apple is one of the few companies that offer international transferrable warranties.

Just picked this up from officeworks! Worth it!

    • Pretty expensive still. I mean damn the iPhone 7 has a better battery and it was nothing to write home about

    • Hi, I was wondering if you showed the office works staff the receipt provided by op or the Ozmobiles link?

      • +1

They can not do price match without OZmobiles link. The store I go also take a photo of the receipt screen for record.

  • This is great! Anyone have a receipt for the 256GB Space Grey Model?

    • You could have a try with the 256GB silver model receipt. The guy at Officeworks asked what colour I wanted even though I showed him the deal for the silver model :)

      • +1

        I will give it a shot :)

  • +1

These phones are not sealed (They have
    been opened and checked)

    Dodgy as (profanity)!

  • Just went to officeworks Garden City & Browns Plains. Staff there said they won’t do a price match as the competitor’s iPhone is not sealed and it’s refurbished.

    • Use the picture of the reciept, dont bother to show them the original deal.

      • I did. They said it was an error caused by one of the employees from other store. Did you manage to get one? From which store?

  • +1

I got one form OW this morning at 1130 :)

  • +3

Thanks OP. Got one for my wife this morning from office works. 64gb space grey
Was actually going to buy yesterday after work but was too tired and postponed the purchase. Saved me almost $300.

    • Which store did you go?

    • Can you plz post the receipt I will go down tonight and get 64gb version iPhone X from office works

    • Could you pls upload the receipt for 64GB? Thank you.

  • I couldn't do it as the staff said they can't price beat online stores and OzMobile doesn't have a physical store.

    • +1

I'd ask to speak to the manager and show them the section where it lists:

"Our PBG includes products at competitor’s online stores but, as with any other kind of store, the item must be identical and in stock. When assessing the PBG from online stores we also take into account the added cost of delivery to your location"

I could understand refusing to match based on any number of legitimate reasons, but pretending they don't match online stores is an outright lie on the stores behalf.

      Edit: a typo

      • We did do that, but then he said that OzMobile aren't authorised resellers so rejected it all together.

        • Went into the Woolloongabba OW and got the same story as well. Wouldn't budge, just said that person got lucky before they looked into the site and the fact the phones aren't sealed etc etc. Oh well worth a shot.

  • +1

Try 2 OW stores, first one refused as excuse of can’t match and out of stock.
2nd store, took them an hour to verify the photo of receipt and ozmobiles website and I finally got one (silver only)

    • -2

You obviously got an inexperienced staff. Of course Officeworks don't pricematch opened stock. The reason this website's are open is because they are grey stock and they swapped out the charger. Warranty Ozmobiles are also taking the risk meaning they provide no Australian warranty and are not an Authorised Apple dealer. Quiet dodgy overall, no warehouse address, no store address and pickup in Melbourne City? Also not an Authorised Apple dealer.

    • Same here. East Vic Park in WA said the same thing. Can't price match due to opened stock

      • Another person came to ask the same deal when I was paying the phone at the counter. She got the deal straight away, no question asked.

  • Don't go in to OW to pricematch these. Its a waste of everybody's time and the reason they are open is because they are grey stock and they swapped out the charger. Warranty Ozmobiles are also taking the risk meaning they provide no official Australian warranty. Quiet dodgy overall, no warehouse address, no store address and pickup in Melbourne City? Not an authorised Apple dealer.

Just got from Keswick Adelaide, only left 1 more space grey

    • +1

Got one just before from Keswick too.

They were satisfied with the site as it specified warranty, the location and they had stock.

      Thanks OP :)

  • Who pays over $1k for a phone these days

    • Top models from big brands almost always $1K US for a few years now. The next iPhone will be a bit more expensive I believe

    • Idk, but every phone i got since iphone 6 has been over 1k

  • Hi, plZ can someone post receipt for 64gb IPhone X from office works plZ

  • Fk, the ow at southport QLD cannot do the price match

  • I got pricematch at OW Burleigh - ask for Matt I think. They were reluctant, checked the website thoroughly - still reluctant but finally gave me the deal.

I'd attach the receipt but I don't know how =/

    • How do you talk with them? give some tips

  • +2

Tried price matching today at Perth CBD store, no luck. She said OzMobile have opened all items whereas Officeworks keeps their phones sealed.

Anyone had any luck in WA, if so which stores?

Thanks in advance and thanks for sharing the deal!

    • +2

Was rejected at Vic Park, but got one from Cannington

      • Do you mind sending me a message with a copy of the receipt from Cannington? Would love to do the same at Cannington. Can't seem to send you a private message.

        • FYI - just popped in to the Cannington store. They are sold out of iPhone X apparently due to selling about 10 of them yesterday due to the Ozmobile deal. Unless it's just an excuse to not sell it to me for that price

        • +1

          @HS10:
maybe try another OW?? called and ask if they have stock first before going in..
sorry i didn't see your msg last night.
hope you still can get one

  • Tried getting one at Preston Bell Street OWs. Was told they have been advised by other OW stores not to match prices as the iphone advertised have been opened and could be a refurbished item.

  • -5

You guys have every right to do this when it is a legitimate pricematch, but doing this at Officeworks gives Ozbargainers a bad name.

  • +1

can confirm that got one from OW PBG this morning :) Thanks OP!

  • Rang OW - refused to price match with Ozmobiles , for those who already got price match , congratulation !

  • This is $1509 from Ozmobile now

  • hi ,do you mind send me a copy of the receipt from Cannington, I want to try price match, thank you

  • +1

got mine (SpaceGrey 256GB) from OW Windsor yesterday. no questions asked ;)
Last one in stock though (for yesterday anyway)

    • +1

can you mind post you receipt please?

  • Anyone got OW to price match lately??

    • Would like to know this also although I plan to head out to OW sometime this weekend to see if I can purchase with the lower ozmobile price.

      • I went to OW and it didnt worked

  • Game over - there is a warning on the office works system specifically prohibiting price matching ozmobiles

    • Oh really? For every officeworks store or just that specific store?

    • +1

Think you're right here.. tried 3 different VIC stores today and they all said "grey imports" so can't match… tried several other sites for them to match too but no luck.
