  • Good deal. I bought one from geek buying about a week ago for $80.

Word on the street is that the Chinese version syncs to English when paired to the app in English.

    • Yep. That's correct.

    • I bought one from Aliexpress last week $89 with an extra sports band.

  • just got one, pretty happy so far, face in pic is not standard, but can be downloaded from website

    • That's odd, seems to be on mine by default (third watch face in the "list" when you go to Settings —> watch face).

    • Same as Ttam here.

    • It's definitely on the watch, don't need to download from anywhere.

    • My bad , is on watch but not on Phione, got similar but with seconds from website

  • I recieved mine today - great watch, very lightweight.
The notifications are very plain, no emoji support and no ability to reply from the watch.

I love the screen - it’s very much like my pebble, but the backlight doesnt look great.

I am having a go at writing a new watchface, yet to fully understand the passthroughs (weather, location, etc..) but should be done within a few weeks. I’m hoping there’s a way to get wind speed, humidity and sunup/down but not too confident..

    • Backlight is better when turned down.

  • Ordered a one of the coloured ones from the last deal on the 20th Feb and only shipped this week (wish I had seen that it didn't ship for 3 weeks) as i paid for express shipping too…

Worse thing is when I check the tracking that GB has supplied this is all I get

    Details Date time area details
    2018-03-06 16:06:08 Shipment info received

Doesn't even look like it's been handed over yet which I'll be pissed about!

    • I did the same. My express post was super quick though and I have had mine for a week.

  • Does this have swim tracking (pool)?
My daughter swims a lot and wants to have a tracker

    • Swimming is not listed in the activities, and although it's IP68, I think you probably wouldn't want to regularly swim with it.

    • No swimming support unfortunately

    • No swim support but I don’t take it off for half an hour of swimming.
No issues after 2 months so far

  • That's unfortunate for an ip68 device

  • Looks like we've come full circle. I had a Seiko or Casio watch in the 80s with that face. :D
What's the battery life like on this? Days? Weeks?

    • +1

Weeks, easily. I get about 3 weeks with heart rate monitoring (set to every half hour, but I think it's more like every couple of minutes), occasional GPS usage, and notifications from my phone.

      • Nice. My miband2 battery has been getting a bit flakey in its old age so thinking about upgrading. But don't want to be charging things all the time.

        • I replaced an original Moto 360 watch that usually did not make it through one day - it's been night and day not having to worry about my watch battery any more! Before the Moto 360 I also had a Mi Band 2, being able to actually read notifications is a big improvement.

  • +1

Thinking about getting this or the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 which is around half the price.

    • +1

I had a Mi Band 1, bought the 2 when it came out, and now just moved to the Bip, so far the Bip is my favourite.
      My main wants are:
      1. Lasts more then 3 days without a charge
      2. Lasts more then 3 days without a charge
      3. Lasts more then 3 days without a charge (If you cant tell I hate having to charge all the time)
      4. Step counter
      5. 'Silent' or vibrating alarm. I can wake up without disturbing other people in the bed :)

      • Haha thank you! Yes battery life is key for me too and that's the main reason I don't want a fitbit.
I bought the Bip just now from Kogan with referral discounts for $69. Hope they ship faster than GB :)

        • Kogan's website says:
          "Leaves warehouse in 1-2 weeks"

That's not really quick if you ask me.

        • @Wolfy:
Haha hope not! My order said leaves warehouse in 1-2 business days so hopefully it should arrive within the next week.

        • How i want to get one too

      • Are you able/willing to share what you feel is better about the Bip over the Mi Band 2?

The main thing (from some reviews I've read) seem to be that the battery life is even better which I find amazing considering its screen is actually larger than the Mi Band 2!

I would guess the larger screen also means you can see more content (from messages, Whatsapp, caller etc.)?

Does the dedicated GPS on this smartwatch allow you to use navigation apps on the watch directly? Ok I think that's hoping for a bit too much lol

  • I have Moto 360 gen 2 and really sick of charging in every night, worst thing when I travel, plus backlight, sometime can't see in daylight,
this is pretty much interesting, as long as I can receive messages than I am happy with that,
any suggestion for other brand, no need GPS,
    cheers,

  • Can you pause music apps such as Spotify with these watches?

    • Not with the Xiaomi Mi Fit app. The app "Notify & Fitness" will let you do it as a paid add-on (haven't tried it myself). Some of the other third party apps (Mi Bandage, Tools & Amazfit) may also let you do this, I haven't checked.

  • This is great watch for the price had mine for 2 months also have the Mi band 2 but this readable in sunlight and hardly know its on

  • +2

    Great post OP.
I am happy with my Mi2. I wasn’t even looking for a replacement and then I came across your post and ordered one
That’s what OzB does to you! :)

  • I have Mi2 and Mi1 bands. Very reliable. Need to upgrade to this one. Bought it. Thanks
