  • Do you think I should buy them or buy the second hand dics and sell them later?

I already made a impulse purchase of Rise of the tomb raider definitive edition when it was on scale last month for 24.95$. And now I'm thinking, damn I can't sell it anymore.

    What would you do?

i would buy them digitally as it alleviates the need to speak to another human being in person

Depends, I was being money smart and buying physical only.
This is the true ozbargainer way.

Now I mostly purchase digital only so i don't have to change the disc, and selling on gum tree is such a hassle.

      Low ballers piss me off.

      But you do you.
I recently bought NIOH and have played about 30 mins and wishing I could sell it

      • I think you should check out getgaming.com.au, you can rent titles for 19.95 for 17 days, so these future NIOHs won't happen.

Not sure if it helps, but I buy the digital version of triple A games when they're reasonably priced ($20-25). So, I don't feel the need to resell them.

Its personal preference. I rarely buy digital games unless the cost between the game and the disk version is huge at the time of purchase. The main reason is the updates on the games are huge and i find my HDD to fill up quite fast when I have around 30+ ps4 games and I constantly have to go in and delete old games etc. You can also sell off physical copies of the game when you finish it, I only do this if the game was average and I don't see myself playing it again. Most the time I keep the games.
Digital game benefits are no more annoying getting out of the chair to swap disks, disks getting damaged/scratched and stops working. Faster loading times? I think. And instant access to the game after purchase without having to go to the store or wait for it to arrive from overseas.

I’ve got no more room for disc. So I buy digital.

I liked Rose of the Tomb Raider!

I’d buy digital at this price. Save your time haggling/waiting for response times, driving to and from and then repeating this process when you want to sell them.

I'd buy digital sometimes depends on the prices of the games. Most of the time I'll probably wont ever play it again. I do regret buying digital games that I never played and cant sell(Final Fantasy 15, Assassin's Creed Unity, GOD of War 3 HD, Metal Gear 5, Darksiders Collection and a few other games).

I do like to look of the cases on the display shelves and selling it after I finished with it. I have about 60 PS3 disc games, 60+ Bluray disc and about 10PS$/Xbox One games(sold about 20 PS4 games a few weeks ago).

Why do these deals always get posted like a week after they go live lol

  • +2

Horizon, Bloodborne and Nioh are my picks here. Any of those could keep you occupied for weeks.

    • +1

just to add on that, Bloodborne is free for PS+ subscribers this month.

+1 for Rogue Galaxy. Massive game and a must play for RPG fans.

    • Rogue Galaxy is a great game but I have struggle finishing it lol

      • +1

Most good RPG's are an effort. Even the western ones (Witcher, Skyrim, etc)

One of my fondest RPGs. Just waiting for FF9 to go on sale and I’ll be one happy guy.

  • If you never played the uncharted series i'd say $25 is worth a go each game is good (especially the 2nd one) and take about 11-16 hours to complete

    • My bad!

      • not a prob… I don't have an issue with it… I thought I replied to another comment saying that these posts are always a week late….

  • Is a dillema , hate changin discs but yeah can’t trade in if digi, if i can wait i buy discs to trade in later but always want the latest game as fast as i can download :(

  • Quite a few games are cheaper in JBs current (or maybe just expired last weekend?) 2 for $40 deal eg Horizon zero dawn , everybody’s golf, wipeout, etc.

I was tempted but I realise how much I hate changing discs. Unless it’s hugely cheaper for disc eg GT sport last year, I probably will just pay a little more for digital.

    • Appears to be still ongoing: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/games/2-for-40-game…

Certainly worth considering for savings if you're after both of Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn (without the DLC). Everything else seems to be either not in the 2 for special or are still cheaper via the digital prices above.
