Pretty good lens, good reviews. Not the pro, others could cost at least double which not twice as good.
I have one for 2 years, did the jobs.

Wow that is so cheap. For anyone interested this is a fabulous wide angle lens in my view - the best value for money wide angle lens from all of the major camera manufacturers - if this was made by Sony it would cost 3 times as much!

Please note that eglobal is Gray stock ie no local warranty but canon lens are generally very well built and I have never had issues buying imported canon gear.

    • Yeah I wish Nikon made an equivalent budget wide angle lens :(

    • Personally I prefer my 10-22mm 1:3.5-4.5. A bit pricier but the nicer range (both aperture and focal) is a great addition, plus the USM is great for videography.

  • Hey guys anyone know roughly how much % wise increase in field of view i would get with a lens like this vs the 18-55mm kit lens on a canon 600d (APS-C)? I also have the nifty 50 f1.8 50mm stm lens. I'd be looking to use it for landscape photography (which I use the kit lens for) and astro (which I use both for depending). Cheers.

On a APS_C camera this becomes a 16-28.8 mm lens (just multiply the focal length by 1.6). A 18-55mm would be 28.8 to 88mm. The difference between 16mm vs 29mm is quite substantial. Exactly what percentage I do not know but google is your friend.

      • Thanks WTF, i'd forgotten that the 1.6 factor wasn't already applied to the lens spec on the kit lens. quite a substantial increase then, will look at some reviews.

      This video helped me

      • cheers will look at this after work

  • It is little bit cheap as other stores has around 290 mark. However, f/4.5 is bit disappointing for a wide angle lens.

    • True. There are some sellers offering it for around $290, but this is cheapest. Some sellers on EBay want over $400 and I’ve seen this lense sell used for $300

  • Is this ok for 5D mk3? Already purchased this deal, regret later, thanks!

    • +1

No. It is an EF-S lens for APS-C bodies, the 5D Mk3 is a full frame body. You could modify it to fit but the mirror would hit the back of the lens.

      • haha unlucky! Thanks for that I'll contact the seller and switch lense. I'm at work so didn't have time to do the research.

Just be aware that if you buy anything from eGlobal and have any warranty issues you really may as well just throw the item in the bin as they are a lieing, cheating, dishonest bunch. They will encourage you to return the item for repair then say it was user abuse/error and demand money to fix or even just return the item.

  • Does anyone know if postage is quick for this seller? I may need for easter :/
