  • What if you've already got the app installed?

I think this is targeted at those who don't already use it, because I don't see the prompt in the app.

The Promotion is only open to new Google Pay users who have never carried out a transaction using Google Pay or Android Pay.

To enrol in the Promotion, you must install the Google Pay app (if you have not already done so), open the Google Pay app and follow the in-app instructions to opt into the campaign during the Enrolment Period. If eligible, you will see the promotion screen either after activating your first card or in the Live Feed. If you had previously downloaded the Android Pay app, please ensure that you have updated to the Google Pay app via the Play store.

yeah… but what if we create another google account and see if promotion page comes. enrol google pay .. i guess that may work ( not sure if this way is possible but can give a try)

      • A lot of us (myself included) probably used it once already for that Coles Flybuys deal recently. I couldn't be bothered creating another account but that would probably work.

  • any minimum payment?

    • Couldn't find minimum payment but here is qualifying payment condition

Payments only qualify and count towards your qualifying payments if made at: (i) contactless payment terminals that accept payment via Google Pay or (ii) online using Google Pay to pay via a mobile app or mobile web checkout (where available). A maximum of one payment per day will count as a qualifying payment.

To earn a Reward, you must use Google Pay to make 5 qualifying payments within 30 days from the date and time you successfully enrolled in the Promotion.

New to google pay and just added my card, but no offer in the app feed. Is this working for anyone else?

    • +1

      Same here no offers

Edit: I think it needs to be verified by your bank first of the sign up until you can see the promo. I've got a pending in my account history.

Dammit, just used Google Pay for the first time yesterday (got 4k flybuys for it at coles).

    • +2

That's a better deal (worth $20, and you can buy a google play voucher if you want).
      Or were they stackable?

Just make sure that you read the Terms and Conditions of Google Pay (and Apple Pay too for that matter)first before clicking YES… they both are asking for exclusive and deep access to your private data, in particular any financial data you have). I nearly had a heart attack when I read the fine print of the T&C for Google Pay when it launched some time back (could be a reason why there hasn't been a universal take up of these … I said no thanks… with companies like Apple and Google behaving beyond sovereign laws such as avoiding corporate taxes and being beyond the reach of consumer laws, I suspect it only a matter of time, after the horse has bolted, that any real legal protocols are put in place to protect the end consumer, you.

Talk to your bank first and find out what would happen in the event of fraudulent activity occurring via either of these payment systems. You may be surprised.

    :)

The majority of people here appear to think they're not influenced by marketing nor convenience of payments so they see it as gaining ten dollars rather than unconsciously losing money via increased spending which is what is happening.

          @pyro love bird:
Good work. 28 Degrees Mastercard also supports Google Pay .. not sure if listed under a different name in your list though.

        • @noz: no idea tbh it says for other institutions call and check with them

      • idonotknowwhy

  • will try

  • Damn, I just signed up and used Google Pay for the first time on Friday last week >:(
    Thanks for sharing anyway!

  • I tried to use it today but it wouldn't work. As far as I understand I had it up put it against the machine and nothing happened. Very frustrating

    • Have you had NFC enabled

      • yep, I use it on the commbank app all the time.

  • Google pay doesn't support St George :( what do I do if they don't support my bank??

    • +1

You mean your bank doesn't support Google Pay and simple. You move banks.

    • St George doesn't support Google Pay.

  • I have never carried out transactions using Google/Android Pay before while the activity has not shown up anywhere my app yet.

  • Tried using this on my phone yesterday and it didnt work. Seems like more hassle than its worth. Ended up disabling it.

  • Has it been successful for anyone?

  • Im wondering the same! Since taking up the offer I've used Pay on multiple occasions and still yet to see anthing.

  • Used it yesterday for the first time, but no transaction history or anything to confirm it counted as one of the 5 transactions. Checked mastercard and it was on the statement pending. Anyone had any experience with it confirming one of the 5 transactions?

  • It appears it only works if you opted in 24 hours previously. I opted into the deal, then immediately used it and it did not work.
