New rewards added 5,135 points for these eGift cards, not as good value as Microsoft dollars however. Might help if you have heaps of points and don't want any of the other rewards.

Wonder if these will still be up in 2 or 3 years when I finally stack up enough points.
that's a hard work for $5
I used the thing whenever I remembered, so probably a good once a week maybe, for a year or so. Did the little quizzes and 90 points or whatever for Bing-ing things. I had the $5 Microsoft voucher as my set reward.
Then they took it away and offered a $3 one. In all that time, I had just scored enough points to get the $3 one.
I took the $3 one and was happy with it, but like, as much as I love their reward system, outside of the odd special offer, it's not really gonna pay off.
Similar here after like 6 months got around 3k points and it's gone… so end up only Bin_search and quick quiz for lunch spare time
It might be back now. I just set my goal from $3 to $5 MS store reward yesterday. Need to search for it in the rewards page though.
@netsurfer: If it took me that long to cash out 3, I am not about to start gunning for 5 again.
I was doing the same thing, got two years, then they removed the 12 month gamepass reward. :(
@TheDukeOfNukem: For me, I only started collecting points and search points 3 weeks ago (and I skipped a lot of days and I only collected the max 162 per day less than 6 times). Two more days and I will get $5 MS store reward. I do have XB1 so you do occasionally get some odd extra points here and there.
The 12 month reward ones are hard for me.
How many points do you get for using Bing Search?
3 per search, max of 30 per day.
Cool thanks.
So that's 1711 searches, spread across 6 months. A lot of work for your $5.3 points per search - but up to 54 searches per day.
Per day:
Max of 90 points (30 searches) on any browser.
Additional 12 points (4 searches) for Microsoft Edge Bonus (only starts counting after the max 90 points collected).
Additional 60 points (20 searches) for searching on Mobile app (i.e. Android using the Bing app).Every day or two, you get some bonus 10 points for clicking on one of the links provided on the rewards page. There are also quizzes which you can get 20-30 points extra - all done through browser. Occasionally, there are some odd ones, which are Xbox One related (but they are rare).
@netsurfer:
Is that only if you're level 2?@netsurfer: So saying 162 points?
@amyls89: I see. Level 1, only 30 points from searches (+ 3 bonus points for Bing search via Microsoft Edge).
However, I just logged in to another account which was level 1, Microsoft just kept on offering me bonus points and it is now level 2. I initially got up to 491 points and thought I have to wait till tomorrow, but Microsoft then offered me another 100 points (for doing searches so fast?!).
There is a bug in Microsoft's system. Once you reached level 2, your search reward daily stats get a complete reset for that particular day. So, I can get another 162 points today by doing those 54 searches. I found Microsoft quite generous on the rewards. After all, this new account was created to get the 1 month Game Pass code, worth ~$10.
I’ve claimed 3x $10 + 6x $5 ($60) in 1 year of using occasionally..
I have earned 3 years of Xbox Live Gold and 3 years of Xbox Game Pass (yes they stack) via Microsoft Rewards. And if you have a wife or partner that sets a rewards goal, you can take their Subscription codes and use them on your own Microsoft account, too.
Do you do all the searches legit? How fast does the points add up?
Well, OZBargain is a search. Google is a search. You get the idea. (Hey, I didn't want Microsoft to count them, but if they chose to, I am not going to complain)
If you use Microsoft Edge and leave the default search engine to Bing, it gets done quite quickly. The only problem with your logic, is using edge, and bing… I tried, and tried, and couldn't make myself suffer through the poor results and frustrating browsing experience for this.
@Ice-Eyes: yeah I know. But, when on public transport, you can afford to do some less important searches.
Video searches count too. Or, use it as a calculator.
I'm lazy af and search by typing:
"1"
"11"
"111"
"1111"You get the picture ;)
It doesn't have to be legitimate searches and can be complete jibberish just so long its a different combination of letters/numbers each time. I've been doing this for both my PC (90 points) and Mobile (60 points) limit per day for the past couple of months - takes me less than 5 minutes to earn 150+ points per day
Same here. Part of my daily routine is a superfast bing search on PC and mobile. I just lazily click on image links for numbers 1 through ~40 on the pc and search the alphabet A through V on my phone. Takes a few minutes.
I'm pretty much the same but I type out and do one longish search, then I click in the search bar, press backspace and then press enter and repeat the last 3 steps till there is nothing left in the search bar:
"1111"
"111"
"11"
"1"So basically every day now it is the same search as I know the minimum length the first search has to be.
Also, you may already know this (but for those who don't) in Chrome on the PC, you can do mobile searches through that instead of doing it only on your mobile.
To do it, in Chrome click on the 3 dots under the X in the top right corner then go to;
"More Tools"
Then
"Developer Tools"
Then click the icon to the left side of "Elements" or Ctrl + Shift + M
and the browser should then treat the web page you are on as the mobile version.@Vector18: TIL, thanks for the awesome tip.
Should be able to shave another minute of the daily grind haha@Chimpus: No worries haha
You should be able to get it to under 2 minutes if you line up the mouse in the search bar. Just click, backspace, enter, click, backspace, enter till all the letters are gone.It does mean logging into Bing on Microsoft Edge as well if you really want the extra 12 points but I found it is worth it as you get extra quizzes sometimes on the Bing site (click on the points when you are logged in on Bing and all the extra points should show). I'm pretty sure you can stay logged in on Bing on both browsers though so it should be okay.
I'm doing 2 accounts at the moment so logging in and out on both browsers can be annoying but it still takes less than 5 minutes haha
While you get steady points for searching via Bing and doing the quizzes, you also get 40 points for every dollar spent when you buy a digital Xbox game. I buy a lot of digital Xbox games so I can family share them on two Xboxs. That gives you a massive boost.
That's awesome, cheers!
Coles have just been added too! https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/redeem/000801000000
Thanks, will add to main post!
Now I can finally retire early. My Avatar will be so proud!
Put your VPN to good use, you can go to the rewards sites of other regions.
I have used the US, Canada, French, German ones.
You get bonuses for going there the first time too. and you can do the searches as per Chimpus above.Points fly up in no time
Your account will get banned for using a VPN. Two of mine have been banned. Fortunately they were my secondary accounts. Close to 40k points in total that cannot be redeemed.
This is the response i got from support when i asked them why i cant redeem any points.
Hi,
How are you? My name is Joseph from Microsoft Rewards Support. Let me assist you today.
Please be informed that you will not be able to place a successful redemption or make changes to your Microsoft Rewards account because you are routing your Internet traffic through a proxy or VPN. Any use of a third party application which aims to masked your true location will most likely to cause your account to encounter issues like cancellation of orders and further redemption issues.Wow, thx for letting me know. There goes that plan then…
I have accidentally used rewards while using a VPN and I wasn't banned. I think they only ban you if you stand out. If you do it once or twice, they won't take any notice. The people that get banned are probably switching back and forth like crazy and possibly even using bots as well.
I keep getting : Bad Request - Request Too Long
HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long.
Chrome? Need to clear cookies for microsoft.com. That's one of the annoying things.
Nahhh I'm going for the 1 Year Gold Live… So NO!
I must stay strong and save every point…
