  • I know this is probably a stupid question but just looking to understand from someone who does it - I recently signed up to Netflix with billing through iTunes. If I load up my iTunes account with credit, I'm assuming my monthly subscription fees are taken out of the iTunes balance instead of debited to my card? Whilst there is iTunes credit on the account of course.

    • +4

      Yep that’s correct

      • Cool thanks mate :)

    • +2

Correct! You can also use iTunes credits to pay for other services like OneDrive or online games.

I guess we'll all be fighting over that ONE card!

  • How can u pay with an eGift card, my WW store has a sign saying you cant buy gift cards with gift cards?

    • Just go through a normal check out. The restriction of buying gift cards is limited to Woolworths own gift cards like the BWS, Fuel and Everyday Gift Cards.

Egift Card terms don’t restrict other cards like iTunes, Event etc. I have had no problem recently buying almost $1000 worth of MYER Goft Cards with the discounted eGiftcards.

      • Never heard of any restrictions before.. If they don't let you buy a wish gift card, just say it's for your older folks.
Apart from certain petrol stations (partially owned called), not sure why you want physical cards, all of Woolworths group stores accept egift.

The only other reason I can think of is extending your nearly expired egift.

Just did it at a self service check out. It required activation by the service attendant but she wasn't there when I chose my payment method.

      • Woolies/Variable Value GCs require them to enter the amount to be loaded into the card.

        • I know. This wasn't a variable GC and still required activation. I think it's a theft deterrent.

      • Bought one today and along with some groceries on self checkout and same thing happened. Had to get the attendant to come and save my basket and then go and pay at a normal counter where they can activate it.

        • Mine was activated at self serve.

Finally, I can get a discount on all my unpaid tax with the ATO! Thanks OP

    • Woot! Now, where is that helpful email they sent me last year. I've been waiting all this time to pay off my tax bill too!

  • Does Officework price match and beat work?

  • Just curious, apart from paying for Netflix what else can I use the iTunes card to pay for?

    • Apple Music and iCloud storage are two I use it for.

Is it really worth the hassle for iCloud storage. Trying to do the math on it now.

        I pay $4.49 a month for 200GB - that's $53.88 a year.
        I buy a $42.50 eGift card through CR for $40.38 (5% off)
I then use the eGift card to buy a $50 iTunes card for $42.50 (15% off)

That almost covers my year + the remaining balance of $3.88

        $40.38 + $3.88 = $44.26

Really worth it for me to save $9.62 a year? I know a saving is a saving but for the sake of 80 cents a month :/

It’s worth that one time your phone dies or goes missing and you have a glorious iCloud or photo library backup.

          @pifts:

I'm not questioning the worthiness of iCloud storage - I have it, I pay it already.

I'm questioning the worthiness of jumping through hoops getting an eGift card from CR for 5% off and then getting an iTunes card for 15% off for the sake of saving 80 cents per month for 12 months.

        • @bricabrac89:

What you're ignoring is people are using it for other things as well…

if it was just that, there'd be a lot fewer users

You've been provided possibilities…its all up to you

        • @Baghern:

Well, it’s almost a 20% discount and if you already pay for the service I can’t see why you’d pay more for the same service.

        • @bricabrac89: I already have a discounted wish card why would I use anything else at Woolies?

It was a few minutes out of my time to get the iTunes GC. I also got some discounted YoPro.

It was easier than jumping through hoops.

    • OneDrive

      • How do I use it for OneDrive of Office 365?

        • +1

download the app and subscribe to OneDrive in the app, it will charge to your iTunes account

        • @T-man:
          Thanks for quick reply :)

        • @T-man:
I assume you mean downloading the iOS OneDrive app. Can Windows 10 OneDrive app use your iTunes account?

        • @Joe888: I imagine once you sign up via iTunes you can access OneDrive from any device.

    • Cool! Thank guys!

back in the days when 2*$20=$30 was so common… and the harvey norman BOGOF…

    • +1

They were nice at face value but you only ended up with $40 of credit after the effort and shame of walking into a Harvey Norman. I preferred the straight up 30% discount as I could buy a few years worth, and as a little plus the convenience of a local supermarket.

    • Ah, memories!

  • Do you need an iOS device to set up/use iTunes billing?

    • +1

Yes - need to make an account within the app.

    • No. You can do it in iTunes or via the Apple ID website https://appleid.apple.com

This makes paying for my outstanding taxes so much easier.

    • I hope that you are being facetious…:)

        Always!

    • They actually have a warning for this on the cards themselves now! https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/18431/56972/mvimg_2018…

      • It covers GST fortunately, even if Apple doesn't pass it on.

I’ve wondered for a while what those scammers were doing with the thousands worth of iTunes cards.
Did the card codes end up on eBay or were the scammers just really in to clash of clans?

  • Time to close my Netflix account and open a new one through iTunes store :-p Thanks OP

    • +1

Yep I did that recently. Makes it easier. It’s good just keeping a balance on your iTunes account using these discounted cards… we use iTunes for:
      - Netflix
      - cloud storage
      - renting / purchasing movies on ATV
It’s good to know whenever you see something you want to rent or buy you’re always getting 20% off the sticker price.

  • it looks like there is a 10 card limit per purchase now

  • How do you use Cashrewards when the cards are in store only?

    • You use Cashrewards Woolworths egift card portal to buy discounted egift cards at 5%, then you use those to pay for the itunes cards instore.
