Cheaper on their eBay store for $332.34 shipped with the code PICK5 as compared to $338 on their website when taking in account of the shipping costs. But yes, you can try the $50 off $120 voucher method if you still have these codes available.

  • would anyone know if a wired system could be converted to wireless? Bought a set some time ago but never got it installed now I am thinking that install costs would be greater than getting a conversion or new system.

      you either run…

      1. power + bnc

      2. power and rely on wireless

      3. ethernet if running poe

so either way you're running some wire

      • That is not true at all, there are battery powered wireless camera's available on the market:

with all due respect, i'm talking about real CCTV systems and not nonsense like that

        • @tonyjzx: the Arlo cameras are hardly worse than a 1080p wired camera from kogan

        1. F8 + coax

BNC is not a type of wire :)

Overall the system is for ppl who's got ZERO knowledge of CCTV. Anyone who tried transmitting 1080p or higher via wireless connection should know video transmission is very demanding application requiring high quality transmission/receiver. $300 kit or even $500 will not adequiately handle four Full HD video streams.

  • Anyone suggest something that I can lay ontop of my PC at home and record the living area? I don't leave my computer on all the time but there's ample power and setup there for something that just takes in a tiny HDD. Just want something that'll let me record what goes on while I'm away for long periods.

    • Cheapest way is 1080p IP camera with SD card slot. 128GB memory should able store one week video recording.

      • Yeah that sounds good. I wonder if there's a way to set it up so it only works when motion has been captured within last 30mins.

        • You can setup to record full time or when detected motion. Price from around au$25.

      • "128GB memory should able store one week video recording"

Where do you guys get this nonsense from?

We install 4TB hard drive in a 4 channel system and it’s enough for 3-5 weeks at 1080p. 128Gb will give you still images for a week, but not video.
