Recommendations for a good general daily multi-vitamin?
I take this Blackmores B vitamin, which isn't on sale at the moment but often pops up in the Chemist Warehouse specials. B vitamins are good for general energy and that's what most people are looking for. The multi-vitamins that are packed with lots of different trace elements either have not enough of anything to be really useful or they have high amounts of potentially dangerous ones (Selenium, B12, etc). I am not a health professional, but I find for myself just a good B vitamin and a probiotic every 2nd or 3rd day do the trick for me.
Problems with vitamins, besides being useless if you have a balanced diet, is that the synthetic brands especially those containing vitamin Menadione (K3) are detrimental to a person's health.
The best multi-vitamins therefore tend to be those which contain whole foods.
Unfortunately, Chemistwarehouse to the extent of my knowledge does not sell food-based multi-vitamins. Therefore, I cannot provide a good recommendation for a multi-vitamins that Chemistwarehouse would stock*.
Outside of what Chemistwarehouse stocks there is a whole foods brand called Rainbow light with numerous positive reviews and would be my recommendation.
*If you really are dead set on a synthetic vitamin, Nature's Own Multi Vitamin seems to have positive reviews.
