why should it raise the prices in australia?
Australia already has tarrifs on US goods - only time it changes is if AU changes it's tarrifs ;)
which is better? Cavity Protection or Triple action?
Kids like the triple action, the cavity protect is less sweet/more minty from memory
Efficacy would be same same
Cavity protection gives you more but I bought both
I bought 5 of each
and scalp on ebay ^^
No Cool Mint, No Deal.
says temp out of stock for cavity protect
Thanks, normally get Aldi's which is similarly priced but they replaced it with some weird flavoured stuff (slightly bubblegum or something?) and kids been complaining.
Macleans is much better than poisongate
Bought cavity. It appears no more subscribe and save for triple protection.
Anyone else find that if it's not Total, it doesn't make your teeth feel as clean?
Totally
Good deal!
Cheers !
These are sodium fluoride - any with stannous fluoride?
what brand is that?
Im using the 11% one, it eliminates my teeth's sensitivity. There is also Japanese brand ( since mHAP invented in Jap )
Just so you know, while Nano Hydroxyapatite will remineralise your teeth and help prevent decay, it is not as effect as fluoride. This is because fluoride forms a different mineral called fluorapatite which breaks down less easily than hydroxyapatite.
Therefore, fluoride is still preferable.
Fluoride has side effects
such as?
@morediscount: NTP Monograph on the
State of the Science Concerning Fluoride
Exposure and Neurodevelopment and Cognition:
A Systematic Review. Their conclusion is
The current monograph concludes with moderate confidence that higher estimated fluoride exposures (e.g., as in approximations of exposure such as drinking water fluoride concentrations that exceed the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality of 1.5 mg/L of fluoride) are consistently associated with lower IQ in children. The moderate confidence in the inverse association between fluoride exposure and children’s IQ is based primarily on studies with estimated fluoride exposures higher than what is generally associated with the consumption of optimally fluoridated water in the United States.
The antinode could be " oh it was above the guideline ". My question is how average John & Jane know about the existence of Fluoride toxicity, let alone spend their time away from Netflix, find research paper, measure the doses from water ( HOW ?!? ) and toothpaste …
Tbh you do you.
@frewer: I find that systematic review to be highly questionable and potentially misleading. It attempts to draw a correlation between regional water fluoridation levels and IQ scores, then extrapolates that to suggest neurodevelopmental harm from fluoride exposure. However, IQ tests themselves are a poor and often unreliable measure of cognitive function, and they can be influenced by a wide range of unrelated socioeconomic and environmental factors that vary significantly between regions.
More importantly, the studies do not account for individual fluoride exposure—relying instead on regional averages, which is a major limitation. Despite this, the review ultimately concedes that fluoride is "safe" if kept below the WHO guideline level, which somewhat undermines its conclusion.
Interestingly, in parts of the U.S. (Utah recently banned fluoridation in public water), there is a push to eliminate water fluoridation which appears to be driven more by cost-saving measures rather than genuine health concerns.
Is it convenient that a US government funded agency did a dodgy systematic review that might help justify their cost-saving measures?
So, while this review may appear scientific on the surface, it seems more like a strategic piece of policy justification rather than solid evidence of harm from fluoride at typical exposure levels.
And here is the American Dental Association's opinion of that report:
"The ADA has criticized the National Toxicology Program for using unorthodox research methods, flawed analyses, lack of clarity, failure to follow the norms of peer review and lack of transparency."

@Pantaloon: The doses make the poison. Agreed, there is a slim chance that individuals can/have the resources to measure the doses. I have more paper on this subject, but I wont waste much of my time to post it.
My take is easy: if it's chemical, let each individual make their own decision. I find it's extremely weird that the same individual says "don't push your religion on me" yet open their mouth widely to take anything that's "safe & effective" without even asking a single question. Maybe Im just thinking differently shrug
Aldi version is basically the same thing/same price. They all have the stock standard sodium fluoride ingredient.
Wait for a sale on the Oral-B Pro-Health 24 Hour Protection Toothpaste 200g. Why? Basically it contains stannous fluoride, which protects tooth for much longer as it has antibacterial properties. Try researching it. Link on previous sale: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/826612
TopCashback has 10% cashback for Priceline.
Cavity protection used to be good but a while ago they changed ingredients (probably because it was too good for it's price and canabalised their premium versions) and it's just as useless as the triple action now… Using it now my teeth feel all furry after just 4hrs… Previously I'd sometimes forget to brush my teeth because it seemed to feel like I'd just brushed even after 12hrs.
Better off spending a bit extra for their more premium versions: https://www.amazon.com.au/Colgate-Advanced-Antibacterial-Flu…
What ingredient do I look out for that makes the one you linked better?
Great deal thanks OP!
