I got excited when I read Click10 & thought it was an eBay code. Then I realised it was a light bulb….and got even more excited!
    Thanks OP.

Did your face light up with joy!

        I was glowing.

Reading your comment brightened my day :)

I bought stacks of these for home and a build I am doing. Cool white for the living areas and warm white for the bedrooms. The cool white is very clinical, like a dentist surgery and warm white is very yellow. I don't like either to be honest, but they are very bright. Call me Goldilights.

    • 6500k is normally called daylight. Cool white is In between this and warm.

      • 5k-5.5k kelvin is daylight. 6.5k shadow temperature

        • Installed a lot of lights and never had anyone ask for a shadow temp light.

        • +1

          @furiousgeorge: Try installing darks.

      • +1

I thought 6500k is usually "cool white". Either way, I don't like it.

I have 5 websites open now:

        1. and LED of between 6000-7000k is described as 'cool' white
        2. Cool white: 5500k - 6500k
        3. 4000k Cool White
        4. 4000k Cool White
        5. Cool White, Daylight 5000k to 6500k

Based on this, I am going to say there is no standard, so whatever is whatever.

To be precise then, I am not in love with the 6500K bulb.

    • If you have light fittings that take more than one globe mix warm and cool globes and you can create a better overall colour

Our new Led downlights at work cost $12 and you can switch between warm, cool and daylight.

        • +1

I'd say $12 is the bulk-buy cost to your work - I can't see these online for less than $24.50.
If you have a source that is $12, I'm definitely interested!

          @burkey:

I'll speak to our supplier see if I can post a deal.

        • @wooldogs:
If you can that'd be awesome - at that price, I'd probably buy about 10!

        • @wooldogs:

I would totally get some at that price! =)

        • @TheBlackMini:

I think realistically it would be around $15 then I am not sure how you would all go with shipping.

        • @burkey:

I have them too. Which is the right setting though? That's the tricky question.

        • @wooldogs:

Still a good price from what I'm seeing.

    • +2

I can't stand cold white anywhere, even living areas - so clinical makes me feel like I'm in some surgery or asylum hospital.

I don't like overly yellow either - but always been happy with Philips - they seem to err on the whiter of warm white - ie around 3000K. 4000k would be my limit for 'daylight'. I don't like how glary cool white globes seem to be too, feels like i need a sun visor…

      • It's fine if you adjust. E.g 10w warm v 5w cool is a good fair comparison. Also cool white is better in bathrooms.

        • Also cool white is better in bathrooms.

Agreed. I just put in a 14W 1521lm Osram in mine.

        • @CVonC:

Wow, My GT Lite in the bathroom at 7w is bright enough. It's a big bathroom too. I think this would be too bright for me.

        • @wooldogs:

need a bright one cos of the stupid placement of the light doesn't really reach the shower -_-

oh and it's "daylight" 6500K too.

  • +1

But, they are dumb light bulbs? lol

    • +1

Sometimes, that's all you need. I have smart bulbs in most rooms now, and only use their features in like two rooms.

      • +3

        I was just being a smart @$$ ;)

        • +7

we don't all need a smart ass. often a dumb ass is all you need.

        • +4

@antikythera: as long as we get some ass

    • +2

They try to be as bright as they can

  • +1

HIGHLY recommend the Philips! I stole a bunch from Dick's closing down sale for about $4.

But yes, as far as power saving/safety goes, these are brilliant!

    • +1

Yep it's Osram or Phillips for me - nothing else comes close…

      • Saw some similar wattage Osram on Clearance at Bunnings $10/4 pack. Limited stock, not on website.

Also Crompton $6/2 pack on Clearance

        • which bunnings?

        • @CVonC

          Wollongong rings a bell 🛎

  • +11

Looked for some at Bunnings Inglewood but they were all gone.

    • +13

      They had a fire sale.

      • +2

Still a few smoking deals if you hurry.

  • +2

I remember when a dumb led bulb used to be crazy expensive.

  • I bought the 6 cool white pack few months back and regretting it.. it is so yellow - warm white… I suggest cool white lovers to stay away from it.. I changed all back to Philips Cool white and Philips is far superior quality

  • +4

Click brand LED lights are hopeless. I’ve had mine for 2 years. Only 5/20 left standing. Changing another one tomorrow.

    • Average Life (hours) 15000

      That's 625 days.
If you haven't had them that long then return them

      • +1

That's if you're running them 24 hours a day otherwise they should last a lot longer.

        • -3

No the turning them on and off will drastically shorten their supposed MTBF

        • @troyww: That's absolutely false mate!

Most LEDs are dimmed using what's called PWM - pulse width modulation, which means they're almost always being rapidly cycled hundreds of times a seconds.

        • +1

          @picklewizard:

The actual LED is one component of many in an LED bulb . It's all the other components that do the PWM and power regulation that often fail before the LED such as capacitors etc .

      • Pretty bad, spend a bit more and get 40,000

      • Average life in a perfectly controlled not real environment …

    • -1

Maybe these aren't real LED light bulbs?

    • +1

Agree. Click brand is terrible. Their stock is cheap quality. I had to return the same LED to Bunnings 3 times in a row. After that I gave up and just asked for money back instead.

      • +1

Problem is 99% of people never bother returning them . That is why these sort of products just get cobbled together with cheaper and cheaper components .

    • Yes, I also had one fail far short of the rated lifespan. I don't buy them anymore.

  • +3

My Bunnings burned down last night :-(

    • +1

      What did you do?

      • +1

Gawked like the others. Tried not to get in the way. Fire guys had it under control. Hoped it was an accident, not some nutter.
Fortunately nobody hurt. The whole building is gone. Can see why they keep the gas cylinders outside now.

        • +1

Sorry mate..good thing that everyone got out

        • +1

          @stockastics: I presume you meant hurt :)

  • Ever since TA mentioned them back here I've been looking for them in the 3 or 4 Bunnings stores close by … never seen them in stock in any of them.

However, I did find plenty of the Crompton B22 twin pack 9.5W (806LM) LED bulbs (cool white) for $7.00

    • 10w cool white is too bright for me. Prefer 5 to 8 depending on the size of the room.

    • $6 at mine. You must be in a rich 💰 suburb.

      • lol … only really found the Crompton' at Bayswater Bunnings (Vic), looked at Croydon & Lilydale but they weren't in stock there.

Don't even seem to be listed online either, wonder if it was just a clearance line.

I see the Luce Bella 10W CW/WW BC/ES 6 packs are only $19 and seem to be in stock out my way … might have to go grab them.

Just wish they'd bring out more in the 4500-5500K colour temperature range.

        • It think they were another Masters relic order.

  • Bunnings "in stock" is hopeless and expects you to allow them to spy on your location. No choice to enter a postcode…

  • Do these fit into a normal standard light slot?

  • +1

Nice globes. I picked many up when they were $4 for a 4 pack

  • +1

I like mine. Much better than the fluros I was using.

  • +1

Price has dropped to $0.50 :)
