RAm and GPU prices are crazy!!
Spectre-cular price :D
For Intel don't forget to add the lack of cheaper motherboard chipset
You'd probably want to use the Z370 for an 8700K anyway
Good price
A$322 for an 8700K? Sorry to be a sceptic but are you sure it wasn't the 8600K
Correct, I was mistaken.
It is usd 320
We all are sceptics aren't we :)The original comment (before editing) was that he had purchased an 8700K for $322 from newegg a few weeks ago, hence my comment.
Thx bought 2
Thanks OP just ordered one. Now to find the best Z370 motherboard and 16GB RAM deal.
AsRock Z370 Extreme4 for $219 from MSY. They're a great board, especially for that price. You get USB 3.1 Gen.2 (front and rear), and high end/robust power circuitry.
I don't NEED an upgrade from my i7 4790K as it still serves me super quickly, but my golly; this is a deal.
If I didn't need to upgrade my RAM and motherboard also, I wouldn't even need to think about it.
420 yeah
To put it bluntly, this CPU is dope.
I was a little shocked at just how hot it gets without delidding. I have a giant Noctua D15 cooler and got to over 80 degrees when slightly overclocking. Intel really screwed up the thermals on this.
you probably rolled really low on the silicon lottery.
@neferseki: Nope, Intel are just using shitty TIM instead of soldering the IHS on. Delid and the temps drop 20 degrees.
Yeah but most people are not pushing over 80 degrees with a slight overclock and half the guys don't even have a cooler as good as the noctua d15.
Every chip does not stay the same temp as every other chip. You can get lucky/unlucky with how hot the chip gets and this is what most overclockers refer to as the silicon lottery.
@neferseki: Yes, I'm aware of the concept.
Dope?
Deal expired. Was fun while it lasted :)
Preparation for the 8 core model?
Doubt it, anyone wanting 8+ cores has the HEDT x299 platform for use.
Mental
Damn, great price!
This is a six core, twelve thread cpu. 3.7ghz base clock, up to 4.7ghz. Future proofing out the arse!
I'd jump on it if ram and gpu prices were more reasonable :P
