  • How much would it be to add drama to this pack. Can't see any options for it..

  • Anyone in WA that can get this offer, even via incognito mode? Still getting the $100 install fee, no matter the browser.

  • Signed up for the NRL. Thanks op.

  • I signed up last time but made a major mis-step in wrongly thinking there was a Foxtel outlet where I wanted it to be. I wonder if I could somehow get a standard install added to my pack that only includes a relocation of an outlet as opposed to full retermination of the cable

  • At the moment our package is - 1 IQ3 box with Entertainment, Entertainment Plus, Drama and Sports for $65.00 a month. Is this offer good or should we be asking for a better one? No HD either.

  • hmmm.. when i "go to deal" there is no "free installation" anymore?

  • I ended up using the "you can also try this link" posted in the offer above in internet explorer and it worked.

could not get it to work on my andoird phone or using chrome, but using IE it worked.

Before i got it to work, i contacted their chat help and they told me the free installation was a website error, so I am half expecting a phone call from Foxtel telling me it is invalid, but i got the confirmation email, so fingers crossed.

    • If so there would be alot of pissed people cancelling

  • So I tried to sign up got error 404…

  • Last year deal was great. 3 Months Free for Entertainment + Sports Package. Wish they could do it again this year.

  • Does this need a Foxtel port? coax? I just move to a new house and only have RJ45 port which I used for my FTTP.

    • Includes install, either HFC or Satellite

Price is right, I've been wanting to watch the F1 for ages. However, I would feel dirty paying money to this company.

    Pass.

  • Hi All
moved into a new house that doesnt have a dish or a foxtel cable point anywhere - however we did have hfc nbn installed a couple of months ago (was a cable area even though the old tennants didnt bother getting it at any point). Does this mean i can get it non-satellite and just plug it straight in? Currently, there is a cable going from the point the nbn guy installed into the nbn model - do i need a splitter of some form…?
    Cheers

    • So you will need a splitter from the cable point. One cable to the NBN module and the other to foxtel. It comes with free installation, so they will suss it out as well.

Signed up yesterday and set installation date for 8/3.

Have access to my package already via Foxtel app.

Confirmed with CSR that billing period doesn't start till connection date.

Nice of Foxtel to have some free access until then.

  • as a lawn bowler , in the past they used to have a dedicated channel for the Commonwealth Games covering this
I thought id ring & find out —no Australian in the call center,a Filipino,so that didn't go anywhere
    anyone got any info please

  • When you cancel your Foxtel service what happens to the newly installed HFC cable? Are you free to apply to Telstra for their internet cable service? Can this be done concurrently?

  • if you cant get the link to work they waived the fee through the online chat

  • I have Foxtel with Telstra and called up threatening to cancel and they matched this offer for 12 months. For 5 mins of effort I’m spewing I’ve waited this long!

    • Were they able to offer the free IQ3 installation? They refuse to upgrade the plans and expects me to be charged with the installation because they cant give away 'iq3' free any more… wtf

  • Tried different browser, incognito and vpn but I don't get passed after I enter the name…..Any tips?

    • Just call these buggers, this $39 offer is advertised on FTA channels all over the place.
They way they are bleeding they will happily take your business over the phone.

  • Good deal, excruciating sign-up process!

I had trouble getting the free install to appear, but clearing cookies in Chrome seemed to fix it.

Then, was getting 404 error after entering address and contact details.

Spoke to their live chat and said they would sign me up via chat and it would take 20 minutes. It took an hour and 10 minutes.

I received my IQ3 box yesterday. I went down the self install path and the box arrived in 3 days. I have to say I'm surprisingly impressed with the device and service. I prefer it over the Fetch TV box from a user interface design and flow perspective.

All my PC and AV equipment is centrally located in a server cabinet and I use an old Binary HDmatrix switch and HDMI extenders over CAT6 cabling.
The foxtel box worked perfectly with my hdmatrix switch at 1080p (no HDCP issues) and I can send it to multiple televisions.
I re-used the existing telstra cable port that the cable modem is connected to. I needed an F-type coaxial splitter, as no splitter is included in the box. https://www.4cabling.com.au/2-way-splitter-f-type-5-2400mhz-…

The included foxtel bluetooth remote didn't seem to have much range and there was some lag too unless using the remote close to the unit. Using the logitech harmony hub though worked perfectly and seems far more responsive and doesn't require line of sight (with the remote).

Overall, I'm quite happy. Not sure what I will do once the super rugby season and NRL ends though.

That Oscars best film deal they have at the moment is a welcome bonus.
Majority of the 'best film' movies (see http://www.1728.org/page8.htm) are available to be downloaded from the Foxtel box with a few button presses and can be watched/stored for up to 30 days.

When did a second room box cost $25…plus install/admin fee. I thought it was only about $10…

  • Called up just now and managed to get the deal. Im a current foxtel customer for the past 3 years.
With the phone prompts say cancel service to be directed to the people who can give you the deal.
At first said i wanted to move to a better deal id found and they knew straight away about this one. After back and forth discussion got the $100 install fee removed as i said i could just cancel current service and book online.

    • It seems they are not offering cable anymore and only satellite.

    • My flat mate has tried twice now with no luck.
Will try again tomorrow, any other pointers?

  • Deal ended!

    • Still shows active for me?

*Min cost $39.03 on direct debit for 1 month based on Sports HD Combo with an iQ3. New residential subscribers and standard install only. Ongoing fees charged monthly in advance and cancellation occurs at end of monthly period. Offer ends 28-03-2018.

    • I literally just signed up for it - it is still valid.

I'm a longtime Optus feat. Foxtel customer and am making the switch. Optus offered $10 off when I called to cancel after an hour on hold - not enough to make me stay that's for sure.

Only have it for the sport, so getting HD will be good with the IQ3.

Intend on calling up to see what they can offer after 12mths - will drop the HD if they don't play ball, and I'll still come out ahead with the new box.

  • I tried to signup online and got the 404 page mentioned above - I then used the chat option on their website.
They signed me up via the chat window - $39 with no installation fee. Install is set for Mon 12th March.

  • I've had foxtel before, but only have the one foxtel port. I was told that 2 ports are now required. Is this true and is that just a requirement for the IQ3 box, or does this apply to the IQ2 box too?

    • Do you mean this?

My house has a satellite and the dual wall plates from the previous owners.

      • Yes, I am on Telstra cable and currently have a single wall plate. CSR from Foxtel said I would require a technician install as they would need to install a dual wall plate. If it will work using my existing wall plate I'd be happy to go ahead.

        • They could just put a splitter, no need to change the plate

        • @tyank232: Yeah, but I want to avoid a tech visit if possible

        • I also have Telstra cable - the Foxtel tech came today and said they no longer install cable and the only option was satellite.
I sent him away because I really don't want satellite.
I called Foxtel - at first they told me the same story (no cable) on the phone and when I asked to cancel and get my money back they transferred me to another team who have now arranged to send me a self-install cable IQ3 box - which is due by the end of the week.
I'll let you know how many inputs once it arrives.

        • @gimjam: What a load of nonsense from Foxtel. Helped a friend install their Foxtel the other day. Definitely just the one cable input required. Then you just have to call a 1300 number to have the SIM activated. You'll be up and running in minutes.

  • "the current wait time (for disconnections) is 15-20 minutes"

    Impressive

  • Anyone on Foxtel with Telstra? Im out of contract and was hoping I could get recontract with this price, anybody was able to do this?

    • I clicked ctrl+F and typed in 'Telstra' and found something above. Try it.

      • Called Telstra, they claim they cant give away free iq3 /free installations (claim to ran out? Lol) and offered only the upgrade of the plan along with a FEE to install the setbox/new iq3, I asked to speak to someone who can do it - said cant do and that I will only be going 'in circles' and said that if I cancel with them, I cant sign up again with Foxtel as a new customer…I told them that I could use a spouse name, how do they know? - she shut her month but had to hang up bc their attitude to existing customers was poor.

      • That's a 12 month contract plus $100 install fee. Foxtel in no contract a zero install fee.

    • I used their chat and said I was going to cancel as I couldn't get the same package as my friend :), less than 10 minutes later I got this package!

  • +1

Got mine installed. its amazing how shit and confusing Foxtel is, its not user friendly at all. Changing channels is so frustration because they dont hide channels you dont have, instead you get a "please upgrade your subscription" message. Its so frustrating to use that my wife will not even try. I only got it for the footy so it will be disconnected as soon as the season ends.

  • It would appear that you can now get $40 cashback from Cashrewards when you take up this offer.

  • I'm contemplating whether to sign up to this deal. I am only interested in watching F1. V8SuperCars and MotoGP falls in the 'nice to have' bucket. I'm able to get F1 streams on Kodi but this can be a bit of a pain at times. I already have Optus Fetch and I don't even watch it so spending $40/Month to get Foxtel is equating to paying $40 to watch 2 Live races per calendar month. None of my families have Foxtel so I can't share their Foxtel Go. Decisions Decisions…
