yeah sign up for Foxtel (why) and then expect CashRewards to tell you in 10 weeks time you didn't click through their affiliate tracker properly and deny you

    enjoy :)

I bought a phone with Cashrewards $50 cash back which I never received but when I contacted them they happily credited my account.

In relation to getting Foxtel, the only reason for me is the footy so I still can't justify the price.

    • +5

Yes I have roughly 20 transactions that apparently to then all from my mobile not tracked so no payout… a real shame and no confidence in cash rewards for me anymore

    • +1

yes.. they are not reliable nowadays. Recently bought 1000 dollars plus mobile from mobilecity through CR but no click record in my account. Bought 2.3k worth desktop from dell but not recorded. But they do record all of my eBay purchase of 5-10 dollars.. lol

    • agree. CR is absolute trash, have stopped using. Looking back on my history I had -
      10 July 17 Transaction - Paid Feb 2018!
6-7 emails, proof of transaction supplied. Still made me wait 7 months

How foxtel charges $10/month for HD in 2018 is seriously beyond me.

    • HD should be standard. Even Netflix does it (just doesn't charge as much as +$10).

      • Even Netflix does it

No they don't, you pay an extra $4 for HD

        • -1

That's still $48 per year you shouldn't have to pay.

        • +1

No, you pay the extra $4 a month to use it on 2 devices at the same time as well.

        • -1

          @Porthos:

Basic Netflix plan is not HD

        • @Porthos:

          Read what I wrote again,

          This is what I read…

"HD should be standard. Even Netflix does it"

and HD is not part of the Basic Plan

        • @jv: Hence why I used the words as well.

So no, you’re not paying Netflix $4 a month extra just for HD as you claim, unlike Foxtel where you’re paying $10 a month extra just for HD.

Is that simple enough for even you to understand jv? I think you’ll still struggle with even that basic fact.

        • +2

@jv: There is a full stop ending one sentence. Then in the next sentence the context is changed, "it" reffers to the previous comment subject ie the "extra charges for HD".

While I can see how it could be misread, it's not difficult on a second reading to get the correct meaning - you don't have to be a troll about it.

  • Getting Foxtel for free through Telstra :)

    • How?

      • +1

Made a complaint about price increase to my plan.
Said I would leave and not only got a better deal on my plan, they threw in basic Foxtel and new IQ3 for free…

        • +2

Basic Foxtel is just free to air shit anyway. That's why I cancel mine

        • @Slippery Fish:

Basic Foxtel is just free to air shit anyway.

Depends what you like to watch… I've tried Stan and Netflix and think they're shit…

I prefer the lifestyle shows on Foxtel.

        • +1

I called 132200 too and cracked it at them for disabling my fox tel on t box. got offered comparative deal with new smart modem.

    • i'm sure in some bizarro world that's something to be proud of

      • I guess if I'm paying less than I was before and getting more services, I'd generally be pretty happy with that…

  • I signed up for this deal at $39/month as I wanted the cricket, Formula 1 / motorsport and footy. No contract so figured I can always cancel if not using it much (or after 12mo once the promo pricing ends).

  • I went through 3 iQ3 boxes trying to make it work, finished up getting a credit and went back to iQ2. At least it works. Strongly suggest people read the Foxtel iQ3 support forums before getting one.

    • +1

Is it that bad? I'm so sick of the small lag with iQ2. That half second lag when clicking buttons (i.e. fast forward or rewind) makes me feel like I'm living in 1998.

      • +3

        https://community.foxtel.com.au/t5/Foxtel-iQ3/bd-p/Technical…

iQ3 Doesn't have a half second lag, more like a 10 second to ten minute lag.

        • +1

          Wow

        • @datzed:

I don't get any lag. They probably have a faulty box or need a firmware update.

        • @datzed: oh crap……I signed up to 2yearsof lag with Telstra.

        • more like a 10 second to ten minute lag.

          Let me guess:

Telstra sold you a perfectly functional device. Well, perfectly functional provided it doesn't have Telstra's custom firmware that you must have for the service.

        • @djcharliek: Like I said, go take a look at the iQ3 support forums.

        • @Gershom:

I'll get it out with the lag. Good thing I don't get iq3 installed until May. lol…..

    • +1

I went through 3 iQ3 boxes trying to make it work

I got mine about a month ago.

No problems with it and definitely no lag.

I also like the bluetooth remote as you don't need to point it at the box. The old IR remotes still work fine too though.

  • I noticed there is now no option for a self install kit.

    • You can probably call them after the appointment is made and request a self install.

      That's what I did…

  • does it come with foxtel go account ?

    • Yes… Up to 5 devices.

No such thing as a foxtel go account, it is just a foxtel account…

      • +1

anybody wanna rent out cheaply? 😂

  • I have some clients in their late 80’s. They got conned into a fairly basic Foxtel package (entertainment, drama & docks), unlimited nbn (they’re very low users) & phone (local &std calls) $180 pm! The internet didn’t work for nearly a year. They got me in. Tried to call support - the background call centre chatter is so loud I could barely hear the person.
