Tbh this is still pretty expensive considering gtx 1080 cards have gone under the $700 mark in the past(And it is still possible to buy a GTX 1080 from ARC for ~$750). Its not bad for a current price especially with the general low stock for 1080's. With NVIDIA volta expected to arrive around June I would expect better deals to come.
In 4-5 months time I definitely expect prices to be nicer than now. Things for GPUs aren't in a great place right now.
This, but maybe you should say why.
Everyone, NVIDIA have announced they are making a GPU/s dedicated to crypto mining. They say it's in an attempt to help the gamers out, which really isn't the case, it's another revenue stream. But never the less, everyone is hoping prices will drop so you really shouldn't be buying a GPU until then.
That's it, its good for supply only, wont help the price. If gaming GPU's are lower in price due to dedicated mining GPU's then miners will still buy them.
Miners will still buy gaming cards as they will have far better resale value.
That is a flat out lie!
Nvidia has not announced anything, it is just a stupid rumour from some hack at tweaktown that even bigger hacks are spreading around as fake news!

@LoopyLou: Its not just staticice go check out amazon or new egg there are lots of out of stock cards. Just generally there is a shortage at the moment.
