might want to check out Vodafone. They currently have the HTC Legend for $0 repayment on their 12-month $29 cap.

    This is the 3rd phone i've ordered through voda direct and i've never received a credit check approved email. Basically as long as you see an 'order being processed' line after the 'credit check in progress' line this means it went through OK.

If anyone calls 1300 300 404 and choose option 1 and is told they need to be transferred to another area, tell them you have a ES-W order number, not a VF order number.

For some reason, HTC phones have ES-W order numbers, and the team at 1300 300 404 option 1 have the system with which to look up the status.

The other team with the 40 minute wait deal with VF order numbers and don't have the latest status of the ES-W orders… don't get stuck in that queue! :)

  Just off the phone with voda (1300 number, option 1, told her i have ES-W reference, not being being put in queue at all), the lady look up my order and told it's being processed at the warehouse and the handset will be shipped either tomorrow or the next day. YAY!

one ordered 15th the other 17th.

I have had conflicting scenarios on two occasions now
one story from indian call centre and another from aussie sales dept

seems like voda's left hand don't know what the right hand is doing
as I was told by aussie sales dept that yes my two orders are all good and will be delivered
and then this arvo the indian call centre guy said that one order is a no go

but i just checked the tracking for both my ES-W numbers tonight and I get …

Talked to the call centre now , 1300 300 404 option 1 then option 4 ( please confirm this, delivery inquiries)
Guy was very friendly and told me in case I get the first bill, call them and give NRMA membership no. to verify.
Credit for 3 months will be updated.
I was also given the consignment no with AAE and their telephone no. for further inquiries for delivery date.

So far so good :)

All the online sellers where I have shopped provide the consignment number as a matter of routine, once the shipment is lodged with the courier company. Vodafone seems unique in that you have to call them and wait around half an hour just to get the consignment number. It is so easy to correct this and gain customer appreciation, which will have added benefit of reducing load on their telephones, but is Vodafone listening?

  I picked up mine this morning from post office; delivery was not even attempted by courier.

Gave him all my details and he said he need a couple minutes to process, and put me on hold, then the phone was disconnected again. Ordered mine on 17/12 but it was on a 24 months contract. Called on 18/12 to cancel it and I also got the email back yesterday confirming it has been cancelled, but the phone arrived just now??? What should I do? Should I open the box to see what's inside?

Received my phone at work did not even sign for it, so a bit suprised that anybody can order a phone on my name and get it.

Sim card was in the box but cannot make calls inspite the sim card saying that it is ready for use, so anybody having similar problems

Good News regarding the unlocking the box has got an address www.vodafone.com.au/unlock and enter IMEI and security code and get unlocking code for free.

It does ask to have a credit card ready but gives the unlocking code with instructions, hope they cannot charge my mobile account on imei no basis.

Infact a work collegue has another phone with Vodafone gave me the unlocking code for free as well so dont know

It would have been really nice to get the black one but whatever. I'm happy.

I called the 1800 number and only waited in queue for about 5 minutes before talking to a rep in India about porting my number. The process didn't take long but FML the guy on the other end could of at least sounded like he cared about working there! I've got nothing against the reps from India, I've come across some very nice and helpful ones in the past (from TPG and OPTUS), but this guy sounded so apathetic like he just didn't want to be there. Coming from a customer service background, it's just the basic things he could of done that would of made the whole experience less frustrating.

anyway, I was with TPG as my previous mobile carrier and he said that the account would get automatically cancelled and ported number up and running in 3hrs. I also received an extra bonus 150MB of data on top of the 200MB per month. So I'm happy about that.

Now its just a matter of waiting for that first bill to arrive and see how much they charge me.

Overall a great bargain and thanks again to yjm for sharing it. I've been reaping bargains from this site for ages and I've never posted a comment before. but with such a great bargain I was compelled to share my experience with you guys and give thanks!

grrrr i'm home but i just found the "attempted delivery notice" for 11:35… the ahole will leave it at the postoffice for me.

rang up the courier helpline, and the guy told me the parcel wasn't even scanned at the point of delivery, meaning the dude likely never took the parcel out of van and never intended to knock on my door.

  that seems to be how most couriers operate now… atleast AAE drop it of at the nearest post office and you don't have to drive out to the airport or some other far away warehouse to pick it up.

      Yeah, I had my door open and fly screen closed and was reading, so I saw the van pull up and the driver get out and knock on the door. I definitely think sometimes they do either not bother to knock or wait around for maybe a second before leaving :(

dammit, i should have gotten it sent to my work but wasnt sure as i was scared it wouldnt arrive before we breakup for christmas.

So for the first 3 months free, our bill will show $0 for the first 3 months? If not, i have to ring up and give them my nrma number. Can i give them my partners nrma number? you think that will work?

  the bill should be the usual amount (the three months is not with NRMA, the 10% discount is) but you should have $29x3 credit in your account for the 3 months free (this may turn out to only be $26.9x3 (due to the discount)

  i have one too
  i rang up 3, they said currently Vodafone owns 3 but the companies havent merged so they run different operations, thus you cant simply upgrade/merge to this new plan…you have to essentially cancel your contract with 3, port your number over to the new plan
