        • Really, that's interesting. Was this your first Kogan Mobile sim activation? If so, maybe that's why they allowed it.

Myself and many posters above have not been able to activate new service with new number for these, strictly porting in only for the last week or more.

Just ported in a new one earlier today.

  • If anyone wants a FREE VOUCHER before the 31st/03/2018 expiry date just P.M. me as I was greedy and got too many, but knew

    others could use some lol.

    • +1

You can just activate them and have more than enough data to stream stuff for all of April :)

      • +1

True. But there is a limit of 4-5 ( depends what you read or who from Kogan you listen to ) max from the same credit/debit card per month.

Also from my own experience and what I've read here the last ten days now we need to port in, so bit more work, but worth it for a few @ 23GB per pop lol.

  • Anyone has spare voucher?
I got my SIM card but no voucher!
    Any help will be appreciated.

    • +1

Enable Private Messaging and I'll send you one.

I got my SIM card but no voucher!

You should have got a voucher when you ordered the sim lol..

        Hi mate
        Thanks for reply,
I think, I deleted their email. Also I couldn't see any track on their web to tell them that I bougt the SIM card.
I changed my settings for private messaging, if you can send a voucher I will appreciate it.
        Cheers

I think I will have to wait couple of hours more to be able to send or receive Private message :(

        • Sending you one now

    • Did you end up getting a voucher? I gave my last one away here via private PM on the 28/03

  • +1

Just tried to enter the voucher, it is said invalid number. Does anyone has the same problem ?

    • +1

      Same here.

      • To contact them, we can only ring them. With Easter break, no one will be avail?

    • +2

You need to port a number or it won't work

  • +1

Not working for me either porting in

    • +1

Is it a number that has been with Kogan before? How recently?

Happened to me too, I ported out to Telstra and tried to port back to Kogan the next day, all three vouchers were invalid. On a whim I put in a different mobile number (one that hadn't been activated yet), suddenly the vouchers were valid (didn't complete the order though). Tried again the day after (so two days after porting to Telstra $2 prepaid sims), same thing.

In the end I used two of my Belong sims (one for me, one for wife) for our main numbers. That's two $2 Telstra sims wasted. I activated a third $2 Telstra sim, waited a couple days, successfully ported to Kogan using the free voucher just now. Going to use that for my son's phone.

I have two vouchers left if anyone wants them. You have to be porting a number that hasn't been with Kogan recently (how recent is recent?). I believe today's the last day to use them.

      • Was with kogan till about 2 weeks ago then ported out to amaysim

        • Yep I tried with a number that I ported out a month ago and it didnt work either, so unsure how long you have to be off kogan before they'd let you back on with these promotional offers but from my limited experience, >30days.

    • When you guys all say not working, even when porting in, did you get a confirmation that the port had been initiated successfully ( has been started all ok )?

I activated my last 2 sim/vouchers also on Sat 31st March and got the all OK from Kogan, but both numbers have not finalised/finished the porting process. Usually all Telcos port on a normal Saturday, but this being in the middle of Easter and maybe also just being a very busy time for Kogan Mobile ( Easter Sat and many free XL voucher Ports ), can/will take longer and might not be good to go until Tuesday or even later. I have had similar delays even on a normal Sat., no holiday period.

Can contact them on Monday/Tuesday ( maybe no Easter holiday in India lol ) to speed up your port. The bad news is that the expiry date starts from the day the port was initiated ( 31/03 ), not when the port goes through.

Even worse for me and some others, if you were porting a sim that ended around this date ( like my Vaya 4 month sim ), I have now gone into the next month and may/will be charged an extra months service.

      • +1

Same. Made the mistake of porting on Friday afternoon. Given the public holiday Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon won't be done until Tuesday. Oh well.

  • Reckon they blocked them all?

    • +2

I have two that are still working, but it won't work with a number that was recently with Kogan (don't know the time limit, I do know that waiting three days after porting out to Telstra isn't long enough). Luckily I still had a freebie $2 Telstra sim, activated it two days ago and just now (literally minutes ago) ported to Kogan using the free voucher.

Looks like they started enforcing the conditions. Would be nice if instead of "invalid voucher" it said "already used" or "must be used for port-in only" or some-such. As it stands, ANY error (whether you're trying to activate without porting in, porting a number that isn't eligible, already used the voucher, or just simply typed a wrong number in) pops up the same "invalid voucher" error.

I just went Kogan > Telstra > Kogan over two days and all was well.

  • +1

Does anyone know how long it is before the numbers you activate go into quarantine/disassociated with your account if you don't recharge/port?

    • +1

If you do not recharge your account after your plan expires, you will still be able to receive incoming calls and text messages for 20 days, and make calls to emergency services for 90 days. To assist you to recharge your account, you can call the Kogan Mobile Customer Care team anytime on 12612, even if you don't have an active service.

      From here

      • thanks!

  • Argh… my voucher code is not working. Anyone has a spare one to give, please?

  • Has anyone here who started the activation/porting process on Saturday the 31st just gone finalised their port successfully by now?

Still waiting for two of mine, think this will be done tomorrow at the earliest as today officially still a bank public holiday in Australia.

    • +1

Yes got one finished and ready this morning, so they seem to be doing them today.
I would expect today or tomorrow worst case, due to the Monday holiday

      • +1

Thanks for reply, good to know.

Still had heaps of data left as I staggered my activation's through the month to avoid last days Easter porting rush, but still good to hear it's gone through for some others who commented above sweating on new data/30 day credit allowance.

    • Same as King Tightarse. I initiated it on 31 March and it completed some time today (2 April) in the morning (around 9:45am, I think)

I also didn't expect it to be done until tomorrow (3 April) as well, due to the public holiday, but it seems they are indeed initiating ports..

Sucks that as you say the service starts on the day you initiate the port and not on the actual day of activation. I wonder why that is…

      • +1

Did yours go through? I still can't make calls/have data.

I called them Tuesday and they gave me a case number and to call back in 24 hours. Called them today and still not fixed and to wait another 24 hours. I'm glad the number I transferred wasn't important. Can't complain much as it was free. Oh well, onto the next starter pack.

        • +1

Yes, mine went through and I'm lucky it did because it was for my main number. Had no issues. Literally woke up on Monday morning and it was active.

  • Is anyone who's service ported today finding the data not working?

    • +1

      Works fine for me

Side question, but did you initiate a port today..? Thought it had to be initiated by 31 March?

    • Yep, keep getting GPRS is unavailable: User Unknown. This link.

Hopefully should be done sometime Tuesday.
