  • Nice, thanks OP, just seen that 75" mmmmm nice price

10% gift card available there too… for orders over $200

    • +2

Gift card only applicable when purchased on binglee website right? You can’t eBay and 10% off and claim gift card too can you??

    • If you purchase from ebay, you cannot get the gift card, as the gift card has to be purchase in store.

Every time there’s a Hisense sale, Sony comes out with one too. I can’t decide between the h7 and the 9000

Had the N7. It was great, but it had panel issues and swapped it for the x9000e. No ragrets

      • Where did you buy your tv? I'm having a hard time getting my tv swapped because apparently my tv's panel defect is normal. Bought from bing lee, they want me to call the manufacturer and ask some sort of return credit, but the manufacturer don't want to. Bing lee advised that i should push them to give me the credit. Don't you agree guys that i shouldn't be the one doing the leg work here?? The sales rep even agreed that the defect was not normal. case is not finalised yet, i'll know tomorrow.

        • Got it on sale at VideoPro in December. Sounds like a similar situation. I emailed both the retailer and manufacturer straight away. Videopro agreed there was a defect and organised the exchange. By the time Hisense got back to me it was already picked up.
Hisense said the issue was within acceptable ranges and sent through a PDF showing light bleed and cloudiness looking worse at night and via camera despite it being visible in broad daylight.

Had this exact experience too. Had the 65N7 and had issues with CEC for audio. Great TV otherwise.

Swapped (through Bing Lee!) for X9000E and no regrets - N65 was a good TV but the X9K just feels nicer, better..

Much better UI than hisense IMHO.

    • X9 hands down. Not even in the same ball park.

    • sony x9000e is fantastic.. 75" model here, love it

  • This or the Samsung MU7000?

    • I’m going for the MU7000, but just waiting for a decent 75” deal

      • Costco have 82" for $4950

    • I have seen it next to each other and felt this was slightly brighter and rich colors. Also this has Android OS. So I personally felt X9 is better, RTings also rate X9 higher anyway.

For comparison and/or convenience purposes - price matched the 65X9000E at JB for 10% off $2228.40 + delivery (matched yesterday against Bing Lee gift card offer).

    • This is even better for people who have access to JB Hi-Fi discounted gift cards

      • +1

Yep, that's me. Saved another $120 on top of that.

    • Thanks mate. This receipt will hopefully help me price match this TV at a local JB in VIC. What other TVs did you consider before buying this? I am tossing up between this one and the Samsung MU7000 in 65 inch. Or go with the LG OLED 55 inch?

      • Sony KD65X9300E is good if you can get a similar deal

      • +1

I started out looking at 55". In the end I decided 65" would be more future proof. And once you start thinking about a size it's hard to go smaller. OLEDs are very impressive, but I decided for my use, it didn't justify the extra cost. I see the main advantages being viewing angle, and black levels, particularly watching in darkness.

From my reading, and viewing, the X9300 seems to be the best LCD going, and the X9000 is almost as good for a few hundred less. Sony has a reputation for strong upscaling which pushed me towards them.

        Check out ratings: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-x900e-vs-samsun…

        • Yes, the X9300 is the best LCD but I cannot afford the extra $500 for it. If I am not wrong, comparing the MU7000 on rtings is actually incorrect because that is the US version. The Australian MU7000's US equivalent is MU8000 according to this whirlpool thread:

          http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2673597

And comparing MU8000 with X9000 is not as bad as comparing with the MU7000

          https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-x900e-vs-samsun…

I still agree that the X9000E is a better performing TV but I really like the look of the MU7000 and the convenience of the One Connect box since I want to wall mount it hence the confusion.

@Austin 316: Fair enough,I'm not really familiar with their models. I guess it's one of those things where you'll notice day to day usability more than a slight difference in picture quality once it's in your lounge room. So if ti's got features you really like, or you prefer the OS, go for it I reckon.

Do you change inputs much? or you just want a cleaner look? There are some covers you can buy to hide/tidy cables running to wall-mounted TVs.

        • @grizzle: I have 2 kids under 6 so they tend to play around with the TV inputs a lot… and yes, also like a cleaner look hence prefer the one connect box. But I am still unsure if the picture quality is really bad on the Samsung compared to the Sony or just slightly bad so I can't decide whether to go for the better picture of the aesthetics of the TV frame :(

        • there isn't a massive difference between the 9000 and 9300/9400 (65/75)… the higher one has better speakers if that matters to you (a soundbar or proper speaker setup will always be better) and it seemed a bit brighter when i demo'd them in store side by side… i saved myself the money and went 9000

        • @KRiSX:

One thing I noted at the time is that the X93 is almost twice as heavy as the X90.

          22kg for the X90.

Maybe not that big a deal but for people wall hanging these things.. it is a point.

    • Did they price match the bing lee eBay store?

      • I asked them about the 10% gift card offer that Bing Lee are doing, and he said they could do 10% off. Took a bit longer to confirm compared to the normal "what's the bestyou can do?".

I'd called a different JB about matching the deal on the 55X9000E the day before and they said the best they'd do was a futher 5% cash off. Not sure if it's the store or the model that was the difference.

  • How does this compare to TCL X2US? They are very close in pricing but TCL is QLED. I personally prefer Sony though haven't seen TCL in flesh yet

  • Now it says "This item doesn't post to Melbourne Metro"
Well you just lot a sale Bing…
I'm guessing JB won't price match now.

Bought the Sony X80E 55" yesterday from JB HIFI, paid $1075. Turned up today to pick it up and they had sold my TV so they gave me the X90E 55" for the same price. Total score!

    • Hey barrob701

That is a great deal, pls if y can share yr receipt would be great for me.

  • Got it today and price matched.

  • price matched at jb, thanks OP!!

  • Bummed I missed this. When do people think discounting due to release of 900/930F will start?
