Great deal as these are usually a 2k plus item from what I have seen. Pity I can't justify one myself.

    • Not everyone can get this phone!

    • It looks like a banana

      • Useful for including in photos of things to give scale.

Would've bought this and driven 500kms if non-essential travel wasn't banned

    • +1

Oh WOW. I remember that banana mobile phone, and it was very popular

      • and pricey…

    • +4

Epic deal: $1100+ fine to leave home and drive 300k+ for non essential item, plus $29 for phone = $1129 for Nokia 8110 4G (fuel cost not included). Epic.

      • +1

Some Nokia phones are Epic. Like my Nokia 808 PureView, which is still functioning and one of the best mobile camera still in the market.

      • says $29 outright, but when i click on that button, i'm still forced to choose either a month-to-month or 12 month plan?

Just choose month to month and don't worry its post paid so if you don't activate it you pay nothing. Even the $29 you only pay afterwards

can i play pubg on this?

    • +2

Good price, but the insufficient quantity sinks this deal big time.

      And no delivery option.

      • +1

Only available in three very remote rural locations with limited stock… no chance. That and with lockdown I don’t think the police will accept “OzBargain” as a valid reason to leave home.

    • Would Harvey Norman price match?

    • Worth phoning your local. I did, and they had none as you'd expect, but the dude told me a couple other stores that did. Essendon and Traralgon are the nearest to me (so not exactly close, but closer than Mildura), I put Essendon's last one on hold and am about to head in and grab it. YMMV as always.

  • Merged from Niche Zero Coffee Grinder $1169.10 Delivered @ Coffee-a-Roma eBay
    Go to Deal
    Coupon Code: PSIGNAL10

    Original Coupon Deal

With all the coffee deals of late for lockdown, it was time to upgrade the home equipment.
The PSIGNAL10 ebay code works on the coffee-a-roma ebay store.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/str/Coffee-A-Roma

Specifically with the Niche Zero, there was 5 black and 5 white Niche Grinders available, less the white one I picked up late this afternoon, but the store manager said more stock is arriving tomorrow. The disc to address popcorning is included. A typical good price for these is $1250.
    https://www.nichecoffee.co.uk/

The code applies to other items on their ebay store, such as the Rancilio Rocky for $413.10
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rancilio-Rocky-Coffee-Bean-Grind…

Have bought other things from this business many times in the past, and always had great service & advice - and no affiliations, just sharing as a happy customer.

    • +7

Should buy two so you can grind twice as fast.

    • +4

Unless you’re already sold on one of these grinders, I’d do some research at other grinders at this price point. There are better options IMO.

      • +8

Like employing someone to do it for you?

        • +1

Unlike a lot of products, you get what you pay for with prosumer espresso appliances.

          • +1

@Lululuke: Can you elaborate on that?

            • +3

@shiny1: There’s so much to say on that one. In a nutshell, the consumer espresso brands make machines that are so complex, with so many parts that just love to break. Italian espresso machines, like Profitec and Rocket are just beautifully simple machines with components designed to last for years and years. Sure, they might have issues too, but the odds are they won’t. I used to buy cheaper stuff just to get me through, properly investing in good equipment has made my home coffee routine far more enjoyable and with less breakdowns.

I’m not saying Niche isn’t well made. I haven’t used one, but watching reviews, it’s not the grinder for me.

      • I'd also like to hear some suggestions. Specifically with similar grind retention too

        • Grind retention is a reality to be accepted rather than defeated. Not sure Ben the Niche can deliver true zero retention - and that’s its one claim to fame! My advice - buy a quality grinder and expect to deal with some retention. A short purge at the beginning of the day won’t be the end of the world.

          • @Lululuke:

A short purge at the beginning of the day won’t be the end of the world.

            Thanks Bill Gates.

      • It was actually a very tough decision - There's so many high quality options around this price point. Others I considered were the comparable Eureka/Rocket and Mazzer lineups. What sold me on this model was the compact size, the light(er) weight of it compared to the other grinders, quick calibration, simple operation (like my old Rocky which just ended 12 years of service), conical burrs, and being well suited to single dosing and low retention use cases.

      • I’d do some research at other grinders at this price point. There are better options IMO.

Just tell us your HO. :)
        Eureka?

    • +11

Thanks OP, bought a few for the family and colleagues as well.

    • Spend $140ish more for something way better. I own this unit and can’t fault it.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/253686071508

      • +1

I saw that one but I have to give the styling award to the Niche.

        • +1

The niche grinds into a cup.. Terrible. You want to at least be able to grind into the portafilter. The rocket in person looks amazing.

          • +5

@Fur Cue: The cup can be turned upsidedown straight into a portafilter, helps with grind distribution so you don't need to shake the portafilter while grinding/use a distribution tool.

          • +3

@Fur Cue: The workflow for the niche is very good if you weigh your doses and it has close to zero grind retention so if you single dose it’s very attractive. Also if you happen to prefer the taste produced by a large conical burr set over flat burrs you’re going to like the niche. It’s not a clear win for one or the other but really depends on your preferences.

      • +8

I'd argue different use cases, Niche has a 'niche' for someone who often changes beans and don't want to constantly flush their grinder.

      • +1

Or save a few hundred and get a Eureka Atom.

        • +2

I think now they are at a similar price point. I own an eureka and would like to try this one. However, cannot justify the price yet. I have tried niche a few times and noticed a few things: 1. Good for single does or change beans frequently 2. Louder than my eureka 3. Minimal retention .

        • Second the Atom, there's a few places selling for around $900 at the moment too. Don't see the appeal of the Niche myself and I expect there'd be popcorning issues. Small hopper is fine for most, no need for single dosing unless you're changing beans each shot or must have zero retention.

        • I like Eureka MIGNON SPECIALITA.

    • -4

$15 kmart one does the job

      • +2

        … as a spice grinder :)

      • +3

International Roast beats $15 Kmart one hand down.

    • +3

Is this being sold by a bike shop?

    • How does this compare to the Baratza Forte?

    • +2

Have this grinder and love it.
Has 63mm Mazzer Kony burrs ($1,800 machine).
I jump between two or three beans and three brew techniques some days.

Only thing I don't like is the static in the dose cup.

      Single dosing ftw!

      • try mitigating static with rdt - ross droplet technique.

    • relax…its just coffee

    • The white one looks dope

Are there any that look good in white? Trying to upgrade from my Breville

    • -3

I have always thought that I could get right into coffee nerdism. There is just the small problem that I don't like the taste of coffee.

      • -1

Any reason to be adding mindless comments to this thread? Doesn't really help. Then, neither does this!

        • …or this. it just creates clutter.

    • Fruit setting? Is that for washing fruit?

What an interesting product. It never even occurred to me that this could exist.

    • How do you clean the machine change water etc?

      • can't speak for this machine, but our old one had a release tap to empty the old water. As for cleaning, you use a normal dishwasher cleaning tablet, but break it up into 1/4s

Also the quality of the water is super important, if you're water is hard, a water softener needs to be used to ensure the machine lasts.

    • used to have one similar to this in an old caravan.

Wash cycle works well, but it takes forever to dry your dishes… 1st world problem I suppose.

    • The seller has some interesting items for sale as well…

    • I have had one of these for the last few weeks and absolutely love it and is easily one of the best house related purchases i have made.
I did have to buy a few new dinner plates as mine were too large without having to stand them on an angle but that wasn't to much of an issue really.
      Recommended buy.

  • Merged from Dell 27" QHD Monitor HDR600 - S2719DC $559.20 Delivered @ Microsoft eBay
    Go to Deal
    Coupon Code: PPCMS20

    Original Coupon Deal
It is sold at $899 elsewhere.
You may get a UHD monitor at this price, but it's still a good deal for people looking for an HDR600 monitor.
    It has a USB-C port.

    • 8ms normal and 5ms fast response time

      • +1

Yeah, it's typical for an IPS panel. Many other hdr600 monitors use the VA panel, which has bad response time.

        • I think anything below 1000 should be called HDR. Should be labelled as MDR (Mid Dynamic Range) :)

          • @kml22: well there are HDR400 600 and 1,000 standards

this IS is hdr600 with a true 600 cdm

you wont find a cheaper hdr600 unit

    • +2

pluses are its true HDR600 at 1,440p

minuses is that its only 60hz and it lacks vesa and the stand is very rudimentary, no height swivel pivot

      on that note, i'd pass

      • Decent specs but the S series is the budget series from memory, isn’t it?
