Bear in mind, PE in Air China is just normal Economy with more pitch. Same width as normal Economy

  • id rather be in eco in any other airline

You‘d better not going to China, or not come out of your comfy couch at all. Haters are not welcomed anywhere.

      Second to that.

Partner recently flew one of the Chinese airlines (only available option) for work. The airline itself is okay. However, the fellow passengers on the plane were the last bunch of people that a normal human being would rather stuck with, in an enclosed space for an extended period.

Chinese transit port itself is another eye opening experience. If you think peak hour sydney/heathrow airport is bad, try shanghai. As well the transit delay/cancellation is almost a complimentary service.

Airports in Shanghai are much better than Melbourne Airport. There are priority lanes for passengers with kids.

Except mainland Chinese don't care for the concept of queuing. Many a time I found myself pushing onto public transport, knocking grannies aside in the name of self preservation

  • Have recently used economy Air China Syd-Chengdu frequently.I'm 193cm and it's pretty tight on all carriers for me but Air China was a thoroughly positive experience barring a few in-flight entertainment shortfalls on the older aircraft. Recently it has improved with in-seat screens & better options. Food was fine and service excellent.

Agree that the etiquette paradigm needs a little rethink on the wild Chinese public transport system - but 'When in Rome"… - everyone's on the same page, so no drama. Just carry a granny or two on with you when you barge through the other younger punters. Love it.
