can you let us know the quality
I find there they are too ripe many timesMcDonalds for breakfast?
sounds good but how big is a "Tray" I see them advertised on the side of the road "tray" of mangos for $10 etc so I stopped to find the tray only fits 4 mangos LOL was expecting like 15 or so
Came here to ask just that! Really despise ambiguous measuring methods. Sultana bran: Two scoops in every box!
Same thing with me, the 'tray' had 3 mangos hah
Is this typically busy? I don't want to go all the way there with a 2yo just to find it's sold out / long queues
Shouldn't be too bad but I wouldn't go much later than lunch. Should be a big pallet out the front normally with another special or 2 that they don't advertise. I missed out (on the weekend) 12 punnets of blueberries for $15 twice. I do a bit fo my shopping there but it's good to know your prices on other items as not everything is dirt cheap there. Still beats colesworth hands down.
Can every OzB going there wear a same color perhaps so we know and can let our eyebrows talk to each other…
I'll be carrying my Xiaomi umbrella.
I'll be wearing my Lowes Floral Suit, holding my Xiaomi Umbrella and charging my Moto Z with a Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2, connected via a Type-C Data Quick Charging Cable.
If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
For people that live nearby and can get there early for their SPECIALS then it’s a bargain. I went there once and they had Bananas for $1 per kg or a box (min of 13kg and they were all pretty much ripe enough to eat) for $1! The Ozbargain in me of course picked the box. Good thing I have a chest freezer which has served me well for smoothies.
Even a tray of mangoes, strawberries and blueberries are great for freezing and a much cheaper alternative but only when you can buy in bulk.Great idea to signup to their email list to see what specials they have.
Their 1 cent per punnet of strawberries deal was a ripper.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/264373Bought a tray. These are reject mangoes.
what would you expect with a $5 tray of mangoes.
good for juice or making smoothies
Damn, should have thought of that!
Went there this morning and ended up buying a box of Calypso mangoes ($15 / box of 16) and a box of cherries ($15 / 5kg) instead.
Upsold…That's still a good deal.
I live nearby, but unfortunately had to get to the work early (CBD) so it was OzB opportunity lost
my tray of mangoes were pretty good, no slightly squished at the top.
I just got back from the Big Watermelon….Some of them were trying to nick of some mangoes as they arrived in crates.
Such animals…
Ok guys I went at 9AM and there were people of a certain ethnicity swarming and swapping out the slightly bruised mangoes, scouring through the crates looking for the perfect $5/12 mangoes crate. It was terrible. The staffer shouted at everyone telling people to stop. We just grabbed one on the edge that clearly had a bruised mango and went inside.
The mangoes are what I would call XL in size compared to what I've been buying from Aldi for $1.50 ea this summer. They are ripe and ready to eat. Already cut up and ate the bruised one, and it was very nice.
Also picked up 1kg grapes for $4, a large punnet of cherry tomatoes for $3 and 5kg of tassie cherries for $15.
Looked for blueberries but could barely squeeze around. They should look at expanding and widening their lanes if they want to keep doing promotions like this. Crazy.
That ethnicity dominate that place all day everyday I'm afraid.
And agree with it being crammed, especially when people are pushing trolleys around outside blocking a whole lane. Can be grid lock once entering the warehouse sometimes
The experience did not entice me to make it a regular trip, regardless of the savings.
sorry on behalf of my race, they also pissed me off very badly.
Tomorrow's special: Whole seedless watermelon is 20c per kg and cherries $15 per box.
The $15 per 5kg box was already on sale and right before you reached the checkouts. The seedless watermelon was $2/kg today though which is more than double what I normally pay at my local.
Nice one OP - guess where I'll be going first thing in the morning.
