    For those sitting on the fence, I have some further details that might help you:

    This is an impeccable watch, powered by Light (Citizen's Eco-Drive technology), with a Titanium case (making it very light) and Sapphire glass (making it scratch resistant). It is a Satellite Wave watch, so it receives time signals from GPS Satellites so you have the most accurate time, all the time. For those interested, the movement/caliber in the watch is the H950, for which the Setting Instructions are provided by Citizen US. Even better, it is Express Posted from Sydney, I've always had my Starbuy purchases delivered the next business day (as long as the order is made before 2pm).

    If you want to see a video of this watch in all its glory, here's a great one.

    Personally, I have the CC9025-51E that I got from Starbuy, and I'm extremely happy with it. The Satellite Wave technology is impressive, and it's a large, busy dial which is just my style.

      so it will adjust itselft to the correct time zone if we travel overseas for example?

      • +3

        Correct. Thanks to its advanced satellite timekeeping system it will sync with Satellite Time automatically in just 3 seconds in any time zone on Earth and also Day and Date which is amazing if you asked me. Love Citizen watches.

          Does it work in Australia? I bought a Citizen Atessa 20th Anniversary Limited Edition watch from Japan several years ago and the radio controlled time sync doesn’t work from Sydney. If I travel to Asia it works because the towers are in range.

        • +5

          @D1977: Yes, this is a Satellite Wave watch, not a Radio Controlled watch. The Satellite Wave watch gets a GPS signal everywhere on the planet (as long as you have a clear line of sight to the sky). You have the radio controlled watch which does not work in Australia (as in, there's no radio signal to sync to in Australia). Only limited places on the planet have a radio time signal tower, and Japan has one of those. That's why it works there.

          If you're really keen, you can actually use your computer to get a radio signal and set the watch that way.

          @MathNerd: thanks for the explanation, this makes sense. Yes I have been using my computer to sync my watch too.

        • Time zone / date is manual (see my comment below).

          @D1977: It may do if you set it up - you'll need to point the '9' of the watch face north as the watch's antenna is located here, and not be any other potential signal or interference. It may simply not be possible if you're amongst high rises with no clear view north.

          I'm in Brisbane with a Citizen CB0140-58E (came up here as a deal August last year from the Citizen Outlet eBay store) and would have about a 60% strike rate with successful time signal reception overnight, and I have reasonably clear view north. It's on a run of about a week now where it hasn't successfully synced, though, so it's definitely a bit hit or miss. That said, the watch seems to be excellent at holding time anyway, to the point that my Timex GPS running watches invariably adjust back to the Citizen, even if it hasn't synced for a week.

          Sorely tempted by this one, but we're off the States in a few weeks so the brakes are on. Plus I can't quite reconcile those green tipped subdials. The location not changing's not a big deal - it's literally a 5 second job to change cities in my thing. Pull out the crown one notch, rotate the crown to your preferred city, pull the crown out another notch and rotate it if you need to change for Daylight Savings, then pop the crown back in. Easy.

          @The Vat:
          I picked up a CC3020-57L new with tags for $550 delivered from eBay. Not Titanium, but better in every other way. Full GPS and 7 year power reserve. Looking forward to it's arrival. Didn't post here as it was a one off, but they come up fairly regularly.

          @mostlygordon: Nice! Who was the seller? Mine was $324, have been really pleased with it, really high quality unit.

          I'm keeping an eye out for nice Seiko Kinetics or 5s (why not both) while I'm in the US at the Seiko and Citizen Outlets but suspect they're not going to be near online pricing. We'll see.

          @The Vat:
          Great deal! New with tags & in AUD? If so, I'll feel out bargained lol. While I was at it I got this too https://www.chrono24.com.au/ball/bmw-classic-nm3010d-scj-bk-… for $750 also new. Lucky the Mrs got me a watch storage unit for Xmas…

        • @mostlygordon: Yes, it was from the Citizen Outlet shop on eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/citizen_watches_australia_outlet…) so genuine Australian delivered product with full official packaging (nice little ProMaster cylinder. There are some nice deals there at the moment - they'd been quiet for a little while, suspect clearing stock ahead of some model updates.

          Thanks for the link - there are some nice pieces in there…

          @PJC:
          Not sure we are talking about the same watch. I don't think Citizen Oz are selling it yet, they are clearing these out first. My one was from a private seller from US for this model.

        • +1

          @The Vat: Thanks, I'll give the pointing north a shot. It used to work for me maybe 5 years ago but it hasn't for a very long time, then again I haven't been trying it that often because I don't wear it much because my Tag and Omega need to be worn every 2nd day otherwise I have to wind those up!

        • +1

          @PJC: Cheers, missed that post

        • @D1977: Try leaving it out in a good spot for a few days - they'll try for a signal overnight (2 am, 3 am and 4 am). I've never had any luck with a manual signal but the overnight ones have worked.

      • Yep, time zone will be adjusted, but no daylight saving though. Daylight saving time information is not contained in the satellite signal (must adjust manually if applicable in your area).

        • +3

          Had a quick look and this looks to be the old model which does not get GPS position and hence does not set the time zone (i.e must be set manually). This model only shows RX on the face.

          New models with the F150 movement (I have one one the way:)) have the choice of time set only in 3 sec (RX-TME on face) and full time zone / time & date set in 30sec-3min (RX-GPS) on face.

          Both old and new models require manual daylight savings adjustment (SMT on the face).

    • Here's a better video of the actual model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFnULIGkaJ4 however not in English but at least you see the actual watch

        Haha thanks, I was put off that video due to the non-English speech haha :P

    Really, i just back from overseas, you cannot beat a GSM phone, switch it on, immediate local time, and download the app for world times clock

    These watches are like digital cameras, been killed off by the mobile phone

  • anyone know what watch Federrer wear last night?

    • Rolex Sky Dweller

  • +1

    I have one of these. It does not adjust automatically. You have to do it manually.

    I love the watch though and paid more than this for it.

  • Ooh! Very similar watch at the Citizen eBay outlet (CC1090-52F, still with the F100 movement) for $750 with free postage: www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Citizen-Mens-Stainless-Steel-Eco-Dri…

    • +1

      Why would you pay almost the same price for stainless steel versus titanium?

      • Oop - missed that. Good point. Can't amend the post, alas.

  • It's showing $999 now. Deal expired?
