Good deal. Awful rum IMHO.
I love it, never was a rum guy. But a bit of lime, rocks or coke this stuff is great. Got another recommendation?
Personal preference of course but I much prefer sailor Jerry’s / kraken over the captain Morgan’s black spiced.
I've recently noticed that the Captain Morgan bottles are not marketed as rum anymore!
The bottles say "premium spirit drink" instead.They have changed it lately. Recently Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum taste like water.
Arrr ye not man but all stomach. I personally love the stuff. Although shouting "Release the Kraken" is a reason to by Kraken.
@damion: I wonder if the people of Rum, Austria have reclaimed their name, like the French restricting the usage of "champagne"? :)

Best: Zacapa. Any age is still good. Pricey, expecially the XO (currently been some bargain $134, and possibly another 15% off via boozeit + pricematch).
Also good: Kirk and Sweeney.Cheap? Mount gaye.
Cheap & sweet, captain morgan. I presume people buying Kraken are ok with sweet, because Kraken reminds me of post-mix syrup used to prepare drinks at Hungry JacksI've heard good things of Ron Millonario Solera 15 Reserva Especial, cheap ($72) on ebay, but haven't yet tried.
Ha, you beat me, Mt. Gay is the best sub $100 rum if you ask me and I've tried a lot
Have you tried Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva? $90ish a bottle and is (IMO) one of the best rums you can buy. Head and shoulders above the zacapa (again, IMO)
The Ron Zacapa solera 23 is amazing!
I've got a bottle of Diplomatico and it's amazingly smooth, but I haven't tried the Zacapa, which many compare it with.
@justtoreply: highly recommended. The base Reserva is pretty good too but the price difference isn't that big to step up to the Exclusiva
Mount Gay Eclipse - $42 for 700ml at Man Durphy's
I'm a big rum drinker, not a fan of spiced rum though and think Kraken is nasty.
Mt Gay is ridiculously good value for money, very smooth and clean e.g. doesn't give me hangovers.
Try Chairman's Reserve for some top-shelf spiced. Super smooth, reminiscent of an old fashioned with an orange bitters flavour in there. Otherwise Baron Samedi or Untold for cheap spiced, Diplomatico for expensive normal.
Try a Dark and Stormy - Essentially just Ginger Beer (alcoholic or not) with lime and dark rum. Very delicious.

Different rums for different people. If you have kraken, try a good ginger beer and lime juice. Beats coke hands down for my taste

I've found almost every other rum I've tried too sweet for my whisky palate but Kraken has become one of my favourite drinking spirits - on the rocks or making dark mojitos. It's rich and strong on the spice without reminding me of molasses.
You will likely enjoy Deadhead then.

Defs a mixing rum but goes well with pretty much anything.No, only Bundy tastes like dirt.

Having dramas ordering this as there is plenty stock in Cairns store but via ebay deal there is no free click & collect even though it is on the page, then there is the issue of "please enter a lower number" & there is number 1 in the box,then there is the "Doesn't post to far nth qld" postage note. I have contacted the seller without any luck on an answer of why this is so. Contacted customer service & after a 15 minute on hold was told to buy from them & no discount available via their web site. Pretty poor this deal.
